Ah Duck, you beat me to it. I was planning to start a newspaper-cum-tabloid called the Olympia Times after we have discovered writing (how can we have a newspaper w/o writing :) ). This will feel like a real newspaper (or tabloid :) ) where ppl can post political, economic, social commentaries or articles or gossip and scandalous (*gasp*) news about members of the elite. And also news articles but from a viewpoint different fr that of the existing govt. How can we be a democracy w/o a media to express ourselves? ;)

uh... excuse me... (taps on monitor)-*tap tap tap*, it was ME who suggested this thread. its not susposta be a enws thread, just a General thread, for posts, that REALATE TO THE GAME AND ARE NOT SPAM, that dont fit in any other thread.

I have to be offline real soon, but tomarrow I will post the things I have been waiting to have somewhere to post here. its mostley suggestions and ideas and questions.

for example:
when will political parties become leagal?

can we make a timeline with the pic's of all the prez's in it, and the game years they served?

If the Prez is removed, and the Info officer takes over, does the deupty take over as Info officer? if so, does he also take over as Vice, and if the prez should then be removed again, does the new Info officer become Prez?

What in the event of a tie {but I think this is answered somewhere else, I will check in a minute, in that event, ignore this question}

I was playing Civ II last night, and have summore questions:

what will we do with the games High Council? will we talk to them at all?

whats our current T/S/L rate?

will we ever be moving our capital?

also, after this game is over, will we be starting another?

When they do. Why can't people allow these things to develop over time...like they did in the real world!! They will be legal when there is a need for them. And that probably won't be fore a while!

I've listed the Chain of Command in the Rules Thread. Obviously you haven't been keeping up with the recent rules changes.....there is no Info Officer anymore. It goes like this:
President
Vice President
Diplomacy Leader
Military Leader
City Planner Leader
Expansion Leader
Trade Leader
Science Leader
As these people step forward the deputy leaders would become interm leaders. If all these officals are used...then the Chain would continue like this:
Deputy Diplomacy Leader
Deputy Military Leader
Deputy City Planner Leader
Deputy Expansion Leader
Deputy Trade Leader
Deputy Science Leader
MOD Liasion

ok, corn. another old question. I red the rules, but one question still isent answered:

if the prez dies {resigns, impeached} the Vice takes over... what if the new prez, who was the vice, dies?

this hasent happened in the USA, but it happened in Canada, where Macdonald died, and his replacement also died before he could finish Macdonald's term, so a 3rd had to be called in to be Prime Minister.

my suggestions:

lemme use the current names:
assume, Duck's dead {impeached, resigned, etc}
Poto takes over

Poto can, whenever he wants, call for an election for a new Vice

if Poto then dies, AoA takes over. if AoA then dies, the military leader, Faydai, doesnt take over, since he is the replacement, instead spycatcher34 takes over as prez...

That IS the chain of command.

That's what chain of command is.
If Duck dies.
Poto takes over. As there is no deputy Vice President...then no one will take Poto's position until a new election.

If Poto dies after Duck then CoH would take over as president. (Diplomacy is higher than Military.) The deputy Diplomacy leader would take over as interm diplomacy leader. Following this chain....the government can effectively run through 8 deaths. Even as unlikely as one "death" is.....an election could be called if the remaining cabinet votes for it. (That includes interm members as well.)

lemme get this straight (im quite slow at times) When the prez dies you go down the list of DIRECTORS their deputies dont matter? So like if coh goes aoa takes over? NOT coh deputy?

anyways, thanx corn for answering my question. and spy, I belive that the deputies do, infact, not matter. remember, AoA was elected as #1, the diplomacy deputy was elected as a #2.

leaves, or in unavaiable, we will then make the vice the
prez {if the prez is the one away} and continue without a
vice. if the prez should go missing after this, we will then
make the diplomatic leader the prez
