Sometimes when attempting to save a game I will get the message "error when attempting to save" This might happen a number of times in a row. It gets irritating having to try so many times just to save a game.

Does this affect the autosaves as well?

Doesn't seem to effect the autosave any. Not sure if happens when I am creating a new save. I'm often saving over old saves. (else id be overwhelmed by saves of course)

What version of civ are you playing?

I've gotten this too when playing a custom (modded a bit) world map and saving twice in the same turn. I just move a unit out of city and then back in, and it seems to work. I think the game can't save it again when nothing has changed from the previous save, but I'm not sure.

I've never had it happen during an epic game, but I've never tried to save twice in a turn without doing anything different (I've saved up to 5+ times/turn in some games when it's important, and that works fine when I've moved stuff around, etc.)

Conquest .22 patch, XP pro,

750 athlon with a GA-71XE MoBo and 756mb ram. HDD western digital 80gig w/ 8mb buffer.(can't remember model #) Can't imagine those specs could be of any use though. The game isn't in the default directory if that might make any difference.(e:\games\civilization3)

Thats not how it works with me. It will give me this error no matter which save its over and on my first save of a turn. Only solution seems to be to keep trying to save till one sticks but its really annoying.

Any ideas?
