(Bet you never thought you'd hear that complaint, didja?)

I just finished testing out my mod, which BTW included the Vikings, when I go to the editor to tweak some things, then launch the new scenario, and the Vikings are nowhere to be seen! They don't show up in the initial player choosing screen.

I go to Editor, yup, they're listed in Scenario Properties. The only changes I made from the previous scenario were minor; stuff like Barbarian starting units, the "years per turn" numbers, and locked alliances. None of which involved the Vikings in any way. I've set the scenario to allow 18 Civs, among a choice of about 24.

How did this happen? Is there a way I can reverse this?

The only plausible explanation i can think of is that truelly the vikings in civ3 arent computer controlled algorythms but living, thinking beings, and they were dismissive of the changes you made.

And i came up with that after A LOT of thought.

I like Kool-Aid.

lol

actually you say they are listed in scenario properties, dont they have to be highlighted also? I'd check that ;)

mebbie it's cuz my Ollie lacks air.

I liked varwnos' idea better. I'd believe it first, before "not highlighted"... D'oh! Yes, OF COURSE they're highlighted! If I were the Skipper, I'd careen my cap across yer noggin fer such a suggestion! Gilligan!!

I remember a thread about how the player list gets screwed up if you delete any player, and why that should happen is equally as plausible as sentient Vikings inhabiting my hard disk, and I do remember deleting the Portugese. So I set up a new folder and imported all the rules from the new scenario but that didn't help.

Tell me, do I actually have to set up the Scenario Properties in a new folder by hand just because the player list got farged with one deletion? Anybody think this should be an issue addressed in an updated patch rather than waiting for Civ4???

Yeah. I did the whole Scenario Properties by hand. Somehow, my hand is looking MUCH less attractive now. The Vikings are now in the startup list, but for some strange reason, when I start a game, I don't get any Settlers.

What's the emoticon for crying and laughing at the same time.

I've gone into Scen Props and the settings show 2 Settlers, 1 Worker and 1 Warrior. Is this extra Settler the reason I get NONE???

B-gawd, we need a new patch!

I found out that when you import settings, there's a button in Scenario Properties called "Default Rules" that for some reason doesn't change.

When I imported all the stuff by HAND and tried to run unsuccessfully, I needed to tick the "Default Rules" button ALSO!

Now I can play.

Why didn't any of you experts out there make some funny comment at least.
