Ginger_Ale Jun 01, 2005, 12:36 PM Definately - important ones: ToE and Hoovers. Stuck_as_a_Mac Jun 01, 2005, 06:51 PM Also, I'd like to see us try for Newtons or Shakespeares. Shakes would be great for our culture (8cpt?). Double Stack Jun 01, 2005, 07:12 PM Also, I'd like to see us try for Newtons or Shakespeares. Shakes would be great for our culture (8cpt?). And it make 8 unhappy content, and act like a hospital. I would like that after we get into Industrial Age. RegentMan Jun 01, 2005, 07:36 PM Term VI? :p We must build ToE and Hoover Dam. Both of those wonders are extremely powerful and will make our lives much easier. classical_hero Jun 02, 2005, 05:02 AM Also, I'd like to see us try for Newtons or Shakespeares. Shakes would be great for our culture (8cpt?). Yes, I would like to see those built also. I would have also liked to have JS Bach's being built, but that is beyond us, so those two should be our aims, because they are high culture Wonders. The Problem is, getting R&T to research the required techs, or trading for them. Getting Shakespear would require us getting Democracy and Free Artistry. I would propose to R&T that we change from Magnetism to TOG. Newton's would be good to get. I have attached an image that shows we can get CO in ten turns in donsignia, obviously if that fails, we switch to Newtons. I would propose that we make try for this wonder and make Donsignia a science powerhouse, where all the Scientific boosting wonders get put. classical_hero Jun 02, 2005, 05:05 AM Term VI? :p We must build ToE and Hoover Dam. Both of those wonders are extremely powerful and will make our lives much easier. I got the letters around the wrong way. Do'h. Those two wonder will have to wait a bit. classical_hero Jun 02, 2005, 07:02 AM The poll is up. Culture: Should we make Donsignia a scientific powerhouse? RegentMan Jun 02, 2005, 07:46 AM Switching from magnetism to theory of gravity wouldn't be smart. Theory of gravity is most likely next on the tech list; do we have a pre-build that would run out before its discovery? If not, then I don't see the logic of getting the tech sooner just to have Newton's University hang around, waiting to be built. Not worth wasting our spent beakers. classical_hero Jun 02, 2005, 08:09 AM All TOG would take is one turn longer, at current settings. Since we are in a GA, the amount of beakers is not really too important. Furiey Jun 02, 2005, 03:48 PM Don't waste beakers, complete Magnetism before TOG, at the rate we can research now we'll get both well within 10 turns anyway. The Palace is always available for a placeholder if necessary. Bertie Jun 02, 2005, 05:41 PM Wonders are fun, but do we really need them? In our productive cities I'd rather build units to be disbanded in our corrupt cities to help them complete libraries and temples. Re making Donsignia a scientific powerhouse: why? Once we research Steam Power we'll have the last tech we need in order to win the game, so I'd concentrate on using cash to help rush culture rather than pour it into beakers. classical_hero Jun 03, 2005, 08:56 AM @ Regentman, It is your call regarding the Technolgies we go after, I am just trying to guide you in a more cultured fashion. |
