View Full Version : making unit movements more fluid
GeneralZed Jun 04, 2005, 05:15 AM Dont you just hate it, when you have many units in 1 tile and you want to move some of them somewhere and you always have to right-click on the stack and select the units you want? I do. So I propose:
Theres a button where you can select the number of units you want to move, which type and the injured ones will stay on the tile.
This should make more easy when you are attacking with many units.
ybbor Jun 04, 2005, 09:19 AM they have this in PTW and C3C, there's a 'move stack' button above the info box
Dearmad Jun 04, 2005, 11:44 AM You can also shift-click in the right-click menu and select a group of the ones you want to move.
GeneralZed Jun 04, 2005, 01:12 PM But if I want to move like 10 out of 30 modern armors. Thats what I meant. Or if you got some injured units in the stack, you some times want to leave them back, so there should be a button to sort them out.
Dearmad Jun 04, 2005, 01:34 PM A magic button that can read your mind!?
Bluemofia Jun 04, 2005, 03:09 PM Nah, I don't like this feature because I probably won't use it, and it's difficult to program, considering that you have to enter in what kind of units, and how many, and health stats.
mastertyguy Jun 04, 2005, 03:11 PM It is not this difficult. Ihave seen it in another game. But I never used it, so it is kinda useless.
GeneralZed Jun 04, 2005, 03:20 PM C'mon guys, give my ideas a chance ;)

I see this as being a tool, which would be easy to program from the stacked movement concept. However, I see it as being of limited usefullness. I ususally, stack my fully repaired units in stacks of 30. Then when I want to move a couple, I can easily unfortify a couple or take all of them with with me.
I SODs were to remain in the game, it might have been usefully to have a remove injured option, but fortunately, SODs are going the way of the dodo bird.
Hyronymus Jun 06, 2005, 04:03 PM Doesn't this also depend on the quality of your system?
