My old printer died, so I'm looking for a new one. I plan on using mostly Linux within the next few months, so I'll need one that works with that. I haven't decided what distro yet. I was looking at the Canon PIXMA IP3000, but I heard that is supported very well. I want a basic color printer for document and occasional photo printing. Any suggestions?

HP is very good about providing support in Linux. Lexmark, too, I believe.

I don't have any suggestions for *specific* printers. I have used several HPs with my system, using CUPS, and have had no problems at all.
