Currently the Following civs have been mentioned:

Greece- Scientific, Commercial. Hoplite (1.3.1 20 shields, replaces spearman)
Persia-Industrious, Scientific. Immortal (4.2.1 30 shields, requires iron, replaces swordsmen)
Ottomons- Scientific Industrious. Sipahi (8.3.2 100 shields, requires horses, saltpeter, replaces cavalry)
Celts- aggricultural, religous. Galic Swordsman (3.2.2 40 shields, requires iron, replaces swordsman)
Dutch-seafaring, agricultural. Swiss Mercenary (1.4.1 30 shields, requires iron)
Carthage-seafaring, industrious. Numedian Mercenar (2.3.1 30 shields, replaces spearman)
Maya- agricultural, industrious. Javelin Thrower (2.2.1 30 shields, enslave, replaces archer)

With the exception of Carthage, every civ is either scientific or aggricultural.

Well I would like the Byzatines, but Greece is really good too, as are the Dutch.

I urge everyone, Carthage is the way to go. Yes the UU is slightly expensive, but Industrious and Seafaring should be very useful on continents. Fast workers, and we can meet the other continent faster than the other civs.

Also, Spain is a good choice. Quick gov changes, and a very fast UU will mean that we can hit non-border towns with in one turn, after being outside.

I voted for Carthage as one of the choices ... however if the map ends up being Pangea or little ocean squares ... I think it would be a waste of a civ stat

guys, I just realized, what I said about the maya was wrong. This map is going to be custom designed, they're probably goingto see no one gets their own island, and we'll share a continent with someone else.
