I thought we could use this thread to answer some questions about the UN rep and President. For example, do we want the UN rep and Pres. to be the same person? Should the position(s) be permenant? And if they aren't permenant, how long between elections? Here's my answers:
2 different people for each job. 1 UN rep and 1 president
Jobs should be temporary
Either 30 days or 30 turns between elections. Don't know which makes more sense.

I think terms should have a minimum of 30 days, but can go longer if needed - for example, if in the middle of a war or pursuing certain other goals. Five days before the scheduled end of term there should be an election poll - vote yes if you want an election, or no if you want the current term to continue. Also since the speed of play can vary it shouldn't be based on a number of days but instead a number of turns. Also, elections on government change sound like a good idea.

I agree with what has been said (which isn't really informative). There should also probably be a diplomat for making agreements with other teams. There probably isn't a need for a diplomat at the beginning.
