It has been suggested that we have a turnplayer do sets of 10 (or maybe 20) turns to provide continuity. At first it won't matter a lot but it could make a big difference later. How about we have all those who want to be the turnplayer post here in this format:

Level(s) normally played against AI
Percentage of wins at that level(s)
Highest level have achieved a win
PBEM experienced?
Level normally played in PBEMs
Comments

Level(s) normally played against AI Monarch / Emporer
Percentage of wins at that level(s) 80% / 30%
Highest level have achieved a win Emporer
PBEM experienced? yes, but other players held up game till it died
Level normally played in PBEMs N/A, haven't gotton far enough for it to matter
Comments I don't place a high emphasis on being the turn player but will help if needed

Level(s) normally played against AI Regent/Monarch
Percentage of wins at that level(s) Not sure, can win fairly reliably on both levels (especially regent)
Highest level have achieved a win Monarch
PBEM experienced? Played one PBEM which didn't finish, plus a few turns of the MSDG and a couple of hotseat games
Level normally played in PBEMs unsure what this question is asking, but probably N/A
Comments I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the best civ player, though I wouldn't be a disaster if I did step in. I'll definitely use others' advice extensively if I do become DP.

I was hoping someone with lots of PBEM experience would say what level they use and then educate us on why it matters. :crazyeye:

There will be no AI's in our game, but there will be barbarians, right?
So then the difficulty level has an impact on:

corruption (OCN)
research cost
nr of happy faces
win probability vs barbs
probabilities on what you get from goodie huts (I think)

Maybe other things as well, but this is what I can think of.

Aren't there more people who want to become turnplayer? I hope there are!

How are we going to set up the turnplay list? Shall we use a random list, or just this order of signing up, so that Daveshack will become the first turnplayer? (it's both fine by me)

Level(s) normally played against AI: Emperor - Sid
Percentage of wins at that level(s): Emperor - 95% DemiGod - 90% Deity 75% Sid - 0%
Highest level have achieved a win Deity
PBEM experienced? Just a few
Level normally played in PBEMs Does this one really matter? PBEM skills is usually measured by the strength of your opponent. FWIW, Emperor.
Comments I suck when there is no clear goal during the mid-game. Very little experience in Modern Wars.

See above exchange -- I only included it on the template because I didn't know if it mattered... ;)

We need to decide pretty darn quick who's going to play the first 10 turns.

I nominate DaveShack, by virtue of the fact that he's on the top of the list. :)
