View Full Version : Teaser ... Rik Meleet Jul 26, 2005, 12:19 PM Here's a teaser: http://www.civ3duelzone.com/forum/uploaded/Rik Meleet/2005726191829_--Kiss.JPG barbu1977 Jul 26, 2005, 12:39 PM Where are those whales I asked for? ;) Is that BG under that cow? Crakie Jul 26, 2005, 12:41 PM Great... looks like there will be no iron on our continent, which we will share with the Greeks of course :D Mistfit Jul 26, 2005, 01:35 PM Wow that's a location that only a Modded map can offer. I can't even get them that nice using Map Finder! :goodjob: You guys should have fun on that one. Whomp Jul 26, 2005, 02:16 PM Sweet. Settler factory here we come!! I see no reason to move from the spot and move worker to the cow. Does anyone use a spreadsheet for the start? SirPleb's or Offa's spreadsheet? Pentium Jul 26, 2005, 02:58 PM I presume every civ has a 4-turn settler factory. The question is, do they all have gold hills? I think they do, so the research will be quite fast in the AA. Crakie Jul 26, 2005, 04:44 PM By sharing the wheat and cow between two cities, we should be able to get two settler factories. I have not done the math though (I never do actually, but it seems doable). Is this worth it on a small map? Should we build an early second (third?) worker to accomplish this? Sir Bugsy Jul 26, 2005, 08:51 PM Resources will be the key. We'll need to settle up the river and use our agri trait to the max available. Whomp Jul 26, 2005, 09:07 PM Resources will be the key. We'll need to settle up the river and use our agri trait to the max available. I have a pretty good feeling there will be access to resources and luxs unless Rik denied all resources critical to each civ. I will try to find Offa's "the start" thread and load the spreadsheet Sir Pleb put up(seemed easier than Offa's). We may be able to put a 2nd city in on the flood plain and get a worker factory going too. O/T I don't know how the team feels about smack talking but I prefer to keep a low profile and talk with our "big stick" when the time comes. Sir Bugsy Jul 26, 2005, 10:13 PM Just like TR, speak softly and carry a big stick. If we have to go to war, I'd be very happy to play those turns. :hammer: Rik Meleet Jul 27, 2005, 03:02 AM Just like TR, speak softly and carry a big stick. If we have to go to war, I'd be very happy to play those turns. :hammer::lol: "Aspiring Amateur" RegentMan Jul 28, 2005, 01:56 AM Just so you know: Wines do not give a food bonus. They give +2 gold instead. Daghdha Jul 28, 2005, 03:50 AM smack talking? Is that when you're loaded on heroine? Remember the hardest drug available is wine  Good to see teammates with same view on hammering. Usually I wanna do 'em good when I do 'em. Own Jul 28, 2005, 02:20 PM That start has everything, high food, high gold, high shields, and a lux. I think our second city should be a two turn worker factory, another settler factory is overkill. IroquoisPlisken Jul 28, 2005, 04:42 PM I agree. We need to be careful about expanding too quickly. Our human neighbors won't hesitate to attack us if we aren't defended well enough. Whomp Jul 28, 2005, 04:55 PM OK turn is coming around to us so plant in place and move to cow. Right? Bede Jul 28, 2005, 05:50 PM Plant in place and work the cow. If I am goin to be Minister Plenipoteniary then Bugs has to be the Iron(fist)monger. Crakie Jul 28, 2005, 05:58 PM Yeah, settle on the spot and move to cow. Did you guys see the starting position of team Dougnut? No way we'll get iron without trading ;) Own Jul 28, 2005, 06:29 PM How do you see the starting positions? Crakie Jul 29, 2005, 02:56 AM Doughnut posted a turnlog in the main forum, I wasn't sure I was supposed to look at it but I did... and so did Whomp :) Anyway, the freakin' HUGE difference in starts can IMHO only be made up for in lack of resources. Whomp Jul 29, 2005, 08:12 AM The post by the Doughnuts was a joke. Good one though. Daghdha Jul 29, 2005, 09:27 AM The post by the Doughnuts was a joke. Good one though. :rotfl: Question is how much disinfo you can post officially and get away with. There's an avenue of dirty tricks to go... Own Jul 29, 2005, 10:02 AM Let's post our real start and they'll think we're joking. No benefit from it, just will be funny when they see our start in the game. Crakie Jul 29, 2005, 11:16 AM  They got me  IroquoisPlisken Jul 29, 2005, 03:03 PM Good joke, though. I knew it was one after Rik said "I'm as serious as the thread starter" or something. That just gave it away. :( Daghdha Jul 30, 2005, 06:29 AM Well, I posted a rather grumpy reply which was ment to express my dissatisfaction with our start location beeing bad like Dough's. I won't post there again hoping someone thinks I'm ashamed of giving our start away. |
