Does anyone remember the olden days of Civ 1 where you had the puddle/swamp tile? Why was that removed? Just because jungles performed the same and were more common and more difficult to remove? Swamps had some unique resources that I remember. Flood Plains kinda are similar to that, but not really.

I never played civ 1 or 2, but wetlands in civ 3 conquests is the same as swamp.

Civilization pulled a fast one and changed 'swamps' to 'marshes'.
They are getting fairly crafty, I must admit.

I remember, I also remember when I first got the game I would move around the river tiles, I thought I could not move ontop of them. :(

hahah, well i was always tried to get ships in there

once you did get on the rivers (with land units) you could drift along them as if a road... that was nice. you could also build railroads into the sea for extra trade, but I don't think ships could ever use them.

I really need to get my hands on conquests, that seems to have some nice features.
