I like B so when I get my next city it will Nikki Hilton Head. What can I say it's a nice place and she seems nicer than Paris.... that's all. :D

How about "U R Smrt" It would make our opponents feel good - for awhile...

"smrt awaits you" Would really confuse our oppenents, unless there's a Slovenian.

Whatever we name the cities, the name should not give away the production. A city with "Smrt" in it will easily be identified as a raxed military pump. If we can come up with names that, with a little deduction, points in the opposite direction, that's better.

Interesting idea! I recognize who some of them are, but no clue on others. I didn't see anything that looked like me there, but then you probably don't know me well enough, so I'll propose a city name for me. How about Cookie Jar, since a gma (grandma) should always have a full jar of cookies. (No, I'm not really very domestic. ;) )

We could also name cities after the other teams' members. It will improve our diplomatic relations.... :)

In keeping with the idiot theme, and in honor of an unnamed, seemingly time conscious individual I submit "Brainstem" as a city name.

There is a heartbeat and breathing, but higher-brain functions are notably and strikingly absent.

We can keep track of who named what city and at the end of the game vote for who had the best named cities :D

The looser can be brought to the Simpleton town square and get stoned (rock throwing not illicit drugs :smoke: )

I think that whomever plays the turn that has a settler starting the city gets to name it. If you can't think of what you want to name it, then don't play the turn....

Also put an underscore and your username's initials at the end. For example, Simpleton_W, Dunderhead_TR, Oafopolis_O, Idiocity_. If you have the same initial as another team member the first person gets the single initials and the second should put a 2 after their initial. After we win then we'll vote on the best city name.

And Whomp's correct. All cities should be named. No default names. If we capture a city, then that city willl need to be renamed.

Hey nice resizing of the CDZ avatar! Looks good!

I had to remove a little bit of the white around the edges though. I used Paint Shop Pro 4.something. It's a free version, or at least mine was. The latest PSP is up to version 9 I believe. PSP 4 has everything that I need for resizing (actually resampling) screenies that I need. Thanks again for the nifty redention (sp?) of myself. :goodjob:

I don't think it's an age thing...they still exist and there are many chapters of the club. The idea is usually that one day in mid-winter a hole is chopped in the ice of a lake and the members dive into the water for a VERY quick dip. Brrrrrr!!!!!!! Talk about S T U P I D !!!!!!! :eek:

Not stupid at all, it's not actually that cold. Of course it is cold, and if you scratch yourself on the ice you could have bruises and cuts over your whole body in no time with little feeling of it, but all in all wearing shoes prevent a lot of it.

Well Bugs, you're right and wrong. It's both.

The first city name is in Alphabetical order and as people have been added they have been added in Aplha order where they should have been. Any 2nd or 2rd city names are FIFO'ed after the Alpha listing.

(ie: if some dude named Aardvark would join now and submitted 2 names, he'd get the next city name and his 2nd city would be at the end of the line.)

Some people have requested certain city placements (B - Frozen Lake on the tundra furs and Coinich for a city to irritate a neighbor)

This didn't start until D'head was decided for our 2nd city. And then someone (don't remember who) put forth that Mist & I should be the first two. Mistfit for his graphic genius and me for the MM efforts.

I googled it, and if the translation from Portuguese is correct, it is the name of the Brazilian Football Club's striker. If that is correct, we may need a ruling on whether this is an idiotic enough name for our civ. Granted the guy pretty much played fairly poorly throughout the World Cup, but not that bad.

As I was playing a bit of Civ tonight as the Celts, it occurred to me that a good name for a new town might be Idiotincum...a play on Agedincum.

And speaking of Agedincum, I've often wondered how it's supposed to be pronounced...

I tried Google, which led to Wikipedia (except for some foreign language sites), and it was a part of Sens in Gallic France. No pronunciation given though.

I found it amusing that the other English-language links for it were back to this board in posts by klarius. :lol:
