Provolution Aug 02, 2005, 04:52 AM Turn 2 3900 BC
All I did was to change worker to warrior, city growth is due in 5 turns and warrior is due in two turns, so we can begin to discuss our initial exploration.
Security is not needed, as we are to produce a worker right away.
This early worker will assure us an early industrial lead, indirectly compensating us for not having the agro trait.
About the demographics, we are the strongest economy due to our industrious trait, and all cities are even..
Provolution Aug 03, 2005, 10:47 AM Turn 3.
Warrior is one turn from completion, so we need to discuss where to explore, and have in mind we are researching for ironworking, so it is critical we observe as many highrises as possible. I suggest to send the warrior Eastwards, towards the barely visible hill along the coast.
Provolution Aug 03, 2005, 11:58 PM Turn 4
I sent the warrior south as a slight majority wanted, remember I was torn between East and South, so I did this democratically. I roaded the Cow with the worker, which will last a couple of turns. The plan now is to irrigate and road the wheat with the worker, and use the new worker to road up the ivory, this choice will net us 3 more or more foods, in case we dislocate the worker for a project while waiting.
About ranking, as we lead militarily, we can only assume the Iroqis, lead by Daveshack, did not produce a warrior, but a worker. As we as player 2 are now ranked one in military service.
So I guess the builds are
Doughnut Worker - Warrior
TNT Warrior - Worker
MIA Warrior - Worker
KISS Worker - Warrior
Provolution Aug 05, 2005, 08:05 AM Turn 5.
Xerxes went southwards, and we see a lot of foodplains along the river...
I also amended the tech slider from 100 % to 90 %, and added 10 % luxes in order to accomodate more growth, we turn to Pop2 next turn. We will have one more worker in a couple of turns. Hopefully, the team agrees on the next builds as planned in the spreadsheet.

Provolution Aug 09, 2005, 06:57 AM Turn 8 counts, but strider added no graphics.
If he followed my instructions, we should have the new worker sent to the Elephant tile for roading, and irrigating wheat with nr 1 worker, the warrior went farther south and discovered a southern mountain range and some forests. Also, I assume he turned slider back to 100 % research. Please check on this.
For future reference, anyone playing the save must post demographics and the map, as well as writing an action log.

I did orginally try, neither of them work ;).
The only thing that I really did was move the warrior onto the hill. I figured we can continue south from there, and also get to see some of our western area also. It was abunch of forest/grassland with another river.
Everything else is the same.
Provolution Aug 09, 2005, 03:35 PM Anyways, I played as Strider could not post screenies, and did the exact same moves as he did. It seems we got a river complex to the Southwest of Dancing Banana. We also lost 10 % on the slider (23-20 turns, loss of 3 turns for Iron Working, reestimated at a loss of 3 % research effectiveness with an index reduction from 100-97, I suggest to look closely on the happy faces in each city and adjust slider painstakingly accordingly to maximize output).
I will not let the slider slide again, and keep the slider at the optimal max from now on. Except for the slider, everything went by the book, and Strider was wise to climb that mountain for maximizing intelligence gains.
About the early and many workers. Trait industrious suggests that we we can build more and better roads and make the Immortals transit where and when at our whim. Immortals require a strong road system to make us win, so we can choose timing, setting and allocation for battles. In fact, a intelligent and thoughtful road system shall win us the way, as well as better tile improvements, we got a 33 % stronger efficiency on workers, let us maximize it.
We are also one population down to Team Doughnut, which also suggests our strategies parted. They know we made workers, but will never suspect we can make two settlers that fast with limber subsidies, so I have good hopes in spite of the very marginal slider loss.
Also, we got more units than anyone else with that worker, and we got the smallest population. Yet, we got the strongest economic growth, as you will see turns 15-20. Be certain we will lead by turn 30.
Provolution Aug 10, 2005, 03:29 AM Turn 9 Demographics
But look! :)
We are the only one with the early worker. Now we are the only nation capable of roading up the road for our new settlers and save new city production time, as well as rush settlers with chopping wood! Our double worker capacity is no less than 266 % to their 100 %, cross indexed 2 2/3 to 1.
In this period, turn 9-30 (21 turns), 56 workerturns to 21 workerturns.
This is now our key advantage, yet, we need to rushbuild those two settlers with chopping and develop two new settler factories with these. Hopefully, one on each river, both next to forests in order to rushbuild new improvements.
I also got our slider back to 100 % science.
Provolution Aug 10, 2005, 03:32 AM Turn 9 Map
Going south, we see forests and hills, suggesting good riverine sites for limber-rushed settler factories, suggesting we may need pottery and ceremonial burial in quick sequence, then wheel, and possibly we should get mathemathics and construction. Now we are producing a warrior.
Provolution Aug 11, 2005, 01:33 AM Turn10 Demographics
We are still the only team with the early worker, which suggests the other teams go wholesale with early settlers, in particular the agro civs, Iroq and Celts. Yet, we have the highest output per capita and largest military force (that extra worker).
They do not know we will rush two settlers very quickly, with lumber.
Provolution Aug 11, 2005, 01:44 AM Turn 10, Map
The wheat irrigation and the connection of the ivory completed this turn, so I changed the tilemanagement from Cow to Wheat, making the city grow in 2, not 3 turns, but delaying garrison warrior from 3 to 4. Yet, our 100 % approval rate means that our 17000 inhabitants are rich, fat and happy. We are preparing for chopping the forests for churning out two quick settlers, and ample forests farther down suggests we may logrush further granaries in the two new settler factories and conceivably make Dancing Banana a wonder city at a later stage.
Our present dilemma for scouting warrior (Xerxes) is to turn West, follow mountain to the end, turn East and follow to the end, or continue south.
Another dilemma, should we continue on the inner or the outer rim.
I have now renamed the warrior Xerxes, and the workers in the Dancing Banana tradition (I am to name workers inspired by the city they were produced) for Josephine Baker and Banana Joe.
Provolution Aug 11, 2005, 02:24 PM Turn 11 Map
Demographics are the same, except that all civilizations but us are up to Population 3. However, the map reveals an enormous Himalaya-like mountain range. We need a decision on if we should go alongside Westwards or Eastwards, or go through directly south.
Our new warrior next turn, we are free to send either West or East around Dancing Banana for a short reconnaisance trek until city reaches size 4.
We are heading for two successive settler productions after this last warrior.
Provolution Aug 13, 2005, 04:43 AM Turn12 Demographics
Curious enough, Team Doughnut, Iroqi, has produced a settler, whereas the Greeks may have produced a worker. Hard to tell, they are not at 3 POp anymore, but the Celts. I may guess their opening will be a settler as the Iroqis.
Also, we got the highest population growth now, as well as having the most military units. This will mean that we for 2 turns or so may have to use the lux slider as we complete the two settlers via logrushing, but at the same time, our two warriors will have collected ample amounts of data for where to find the critical iron. Iron Working is a little worth tech unless we find iron, and as soon we locate iron, the better city planning we can make.
Provolution Aug 13, 2005, 04:54 AM Turn 12 Map
We found the very source of the Nitro River in the southern foothills of the Blast Range, directly South, Southwest of Dancing Banana, Xerxes will go directly South from now on.
We also sent the warrior Cyrus Eastwards to that coastal hill. I would recommend him to follow the inland for some distance to the ocean, in order to make a later naval exploration worthwhile, and turn directly southeast after that hill.
Our Population will now rise in 3 turns, and production of settler will take 10 with the present population. However, timberrushing will net us 10 more shields, which require 5 shields per turn for 4 turns more, enabling us to complete the settler one or two turns after we reach Pop3, voila :).
This settler will go Southwards in order to take advantage from Dyno Rivers Foodplains and commerce bonii.
Provolution Aug 14, 2005, 12:28 PM Turn 13
Nothing new, but that we are now #3 in population with two, assumingly, we will see the other civs drop in population this turn for their settlers. Iroqis made the first.
Doughnut 1 POP, Settler and Warrior
TNT 2 POP Worker and 2 Warriors, soon settler (logrushed)
MIA 3 POP, possibly warrior and worker, very soon settler
KISS 3 POP, same as MIA I guess
Provolution Aug 14, 2005, 12:35 PM turn 13 Map
Cyrus went straight East, and saw directly an open village 2 turns directly south of him on a hill. Xerxes saw the same, another open village due East of him, on another hill. In one turn, we found two open villages we can enter for techs, gold, maps, settlers or barbarians.
South of the Blast Range, we can see a small desert, abridging the range to a jungle. East of the Dark Forest SE of Dancing Banana, there is yet more grasslands. I will now post a discussion on tech strategy and on a strategy to deal with those huts.
Provolution Aug 16, 2005, 05:18 AM Turn 14 Demographics (Turn Map Below)
Situation Report
Interestingly enough, the other teams stand at Population 3 in each their city, but Team Doughnut, last turn at Pop1 as well, and now they build the city, Shelbyville with population 1.
We do have the biggest population growth with size families, but have fallen to #4 in manufacturing, since got almost no shields. This is hidden by the fact we got a forest chop imminent in three turns. This also means, we get our settler in 3 turns time, or 4 turns from turn 14, in turn 18. This also means we can get a road or two southwards to the river site we are building our new city. I suggest a dense build, since we got slower units than the rest, as well as that I do not expect us to have many size 12 cities, but to economize in sharing valuable tiles. At this rate, our city will reach size 3 in Turn 15, size 1 in turn 18 with settler, size 2 in turn 19, size 3 Pop and down to size 1 again around turn 25-26, concluding my term with a garrison warrior for Dancing Banana. We logrush both settlers.
Next turn will be immensely exciting, as we reach Pop 3 in Dancing banana and we pop two villages at once with Cyrus and Xerxes.
Provolution Aug 16, 2005, 05:23 AM For your reference Map Turn 14
Rik Meleet has turned of unit renames, so I cannot rename any units. I will ask all of our team members to call Rik Meleet to change this back. We may need that to keep track of our units. We are reaching Pop3 next turn with no garrison in Emperor, so I amended lux slider to 20 % to be on the safe side. After all, the timeframe is key. As you can see, we are poised to strike at two goodie huts at once next turn, even though I would have rather settled by the Northern one and not popped it with warrior (2/3 of all warrior pops create barbarians, whereas building a city by a village only gives the advantages), but the majority yet wants Cyrus to pop it,unless there is a tie or the situation changes.
With a tie, I will break it.
Provolution Aug 18, 2005, 05:42 AM Turn 15
The years following 3300 BC was as source of great celebration, Xerxes found a group of tribesmen at the conflux of Dyno River, that decided to join Irôn. Their more unfortunate brethren barbarians found by Cyrus, was to be annihilated, as Cyrus straddled the only defensible hill in the region.
We will now have 3 completed settlers by the end of turn 30, not two as originally planned. I would recommend to settle one tile directly NE of where the settler stands, to maximize the use of tiles and get the river. Hills and mountains in the West may also provide iron. I would like to name this city Dynopolis, if that is ok by you.
We are getting iron in 9 turns, possibly 6-7 turns now, slider at 90 % and we are minus one gold on the treasury per turn, the bigger reason to settle one tile away NE of the new settler.
Provolution Aug 19, 2005, 03:45 AM Turn 16 MAp
Short on Demographics.
Iroqi increased in Demographics till 2
the others seems pretty stable. It may seem the Greeks could be building a Granary.
Celtic Pop has also seemed untouched for a while. Nothing really changed on the demographics, we still got the biggest families (they got no idea how bid :D) and high on the approval polls.
Military
Cyrus attacked a barbarian by him, killed barb and got promoted to Veteran. I see Immortal material in young cyrus. This also mean our anti-partisan war may be short indeed. Cyrus is following the escaped last barbarian Northeastwardsand explore for the East in the same instance, whereas Xerxes go on South. The delay to our expeditions was a mere 1-2 turns of police action. The settler about to found Dynopolis is now in position to settle, whereas the road to Carpetbomb is almost finished, so that the new settler almost got a red carpet to walk to Carpetbomb.
This means, we will have new cities next turn and in three turns. However, I will initiate nominations for all cities for Term Two.
Provolution Aug 20, 2005, 03:17 AM Turn 17 Demographics
We have now settled Dynopolis, residing on the top five list, and we now got the largest land territory and largest mlitary with 10 years service. In short, we are about to move upwards, and little do they know we got one new city in 3 turns , Turn 20, (Carpetbomb) and another in six turns (Semtex). Turn 23.
Basically, I improved the already good 30 turn plan, with the lucky Dynopolis bonus city as an extra, by accelerating the settler production at the expense of worked tiles. Yet, with worked tiles, I mean tiles not providing roads to new cities. The fun part with our settler being built the same turn Dynopolis was built, is that the other teams suspect we are building a dense build around the capital, where we in fact are buiding a military road south. The key here is that all cities are located on the Westbank, in order to remove the river-crossing penalty in order to quickly supply the southern Frontier.
In the mapscreen score, the ranking is the following:
Iroqi 80
Celt 74
Greek 74
Persia 72
Yet, they do not know we own 4 cities in 6 turns time or so, so our growth will be indeed very accelerating.
At this point, we should let our cities grow till they are big enough to mass produce settlers, workers and military forces at a higher ratio, we are beyond the infant stage where instant growth was key.
I have the following vision for our free upkeep for our four core cities:
4X4 free upkeep
6 Workers
10 warriors
This means, we should have two warriors (Cyrus and Xerxes) scouting, with 8 warriors allowing our cities to produce more effectively, and 6 workers to develop our infrastructure in detail. I plan on having a worker team developing the roadnet, a 2 worker team developing infrastructure such as
irrigation and mining and the last 2-worker team to chop forests for logrushing.
Provolution Aug 20, 2005, 03:24 AM Turn 17 Map
I moved Cyrus to kill the last barbarian and Xerxes go on farther south to see who we share continent with. Worker Josephine Baker went to build road for future Semtex, and Banana Joe went to logrush the last settler this term.
Dynopolis was founded 3250 BC and Semtex is ready 3100, as we moved out our settler. I also suggest switching city names of Semtex and Dynopolis, for the sake of appropriation, now that I realized the present Dynopolis is at the conflux of two rivers, being in character. This has no impact on the game whatsoever, as we met no one, but would be nice to have for roleplaying reasons.
Provolution Aug 20, 2005, 09:11 PM Turn 18 Map
Nothing new, except for the following:
Iron Working in 7, possibly 6-5 turns
Xerxes found a new city spot bordering the jungle, building right on the top of an incense resource, extending the Via Zeus all the way from the stormy Ocean of Proliferation to the hot Incendiary Jungles. Thera are three oasises around, so this site is good.
Cyrus crushed the local barbarian rebellion
Banana Joe chops forest for new settler and Josephine Baker lays the road the settler will walk to its foundation of Semtex site.
Provolution Aug 22, 2005, 04:37 AM New things this map
Xerxes expedition:
After discovering the Incense Oasis (Future named Fort Incendiary), Xerxes discovered a diamond deposit mid jungle by a mountain. I plan on placing a military outpost city here as part of the Via Zeus.
Cyrus expedition
All endless grasslands back east, some forests too
Iron Working:
5 turns, we will know of iron locations, turn 25, 2750 BC.
Settler:
Carpetbomb will be built next turn
Public works:
Via Zeus to Semtex complete in two turns, then build a mine or extend road
Forest by Dancing Banana chopping down
Ranking
We moved from #4 to #2
Next we will move from #2 to #1 when we get our two new cities up the next five turns
Iroq/Doughnut 88
Irôn/TNT 82
Celts/KISS 80
Greeks/MIA 78
Provolution Aug 23, 2005, 11:14 AM Turn 20 Map
Iron Working in 4 turns
Cyrus found the delta of Thermo River far East with a sugarspot
Xerxes found two new gem resources in the middle of the Southern Jungle
Settler due in 5-4 turns
Road built towards Carpetbomb
Team TNT catching up on the point scale
Provolution Aug 25, 2005, 04:39 AM Turn 21 done
I am not adding a screenie before we invent Iron Working in 3 turns (yes it is too much work at this stage). We already voted pottery as our next technology and we got buildqueues booked for some time. However, by turn 25-26 we will be strongest in terms of points, have the most cities and Xerxes would have reached the equator of our world.
Chance to meet someone will increase tremendously from turn 25 and onwards, which may coincide with the elections.
Provolution Aug 27, 2005, 06:21 AM Main Map T22
We are getting settler in two turns, iron working in one turn, slider is at 90 % to accomodate for Dancing Banana luxury to reduce unrest, but still IW in 1 turn.
Road to Carpetbomb will be complete around the time the city reaches two inhabitants. Otherwise, we are building warriors for defense.
MAJOR CONTEST:
Can YOU guess where Irôn has an Iron resource next turn?
The Prize is Governorship of the city next to the iron.
Provolution Aug 27, 2005, 06:23 AM Turn 22 Demographics
We are now the 2nd largest population, ranks #2 in score behind Iroq with 1 point, got biggest area, strongest economy and highest production.
Strider Aug 27, 2005, 04:03 PM Provo, is there any chance that you can convert some of the old 's to links to the pictures? It takes forever to load the newest pictures up with alot of the older ones having to load beforehand.
Provolution Aug 27, 2005, 04:10 PM Sorry can't do.... Would take me forever. However, I can email you the screenies. But please PM me these requests and keep the played turns free.
Provolution Aug 27, 2005, 04:11 PM Turn 23 Map
We found iron by the Thermo sugar delta back east.
We found iron by the hill straight northeast of Dancing Banana, by the whales, some 4-5 tiles away.
Two locations for new cities.
Cyrus found 3 barbarians.
Iron working secured, now on pottery.
We are still the leading economy of the world
AND WE ARE NOW #1 IN POINTS
Provolution Aug 28, 2005, 08:33 PM Turn 24, uneventful, explored some, completed a settler. started SoZ prebuild
Provolution Aug 30, 2005, 09:59 AM Turn 25
Developments
Cyrus stands wounded on a hill, observing barbarians south of Thermo River and another barbarian horde in the SE tundra.
Xerxes (see map) found an oasis identical to the one on our side, with incense and three Oasis, and the Shahanshah suspects this to be the work of the Great Rik, the God of Irõn.
Pottery discovered in three turns
Semtex founded next turn
Carpetbomb gained one population
We fell slightly in rank, but we are getting a new city this very turn (26)
SoZ initiated, camouflaged as barracks prebuild
Provolution Aug 31, 2005, 12:27 AM Turn 26 Developments
2 turns left to Pottery, could move slider to 80 sci and still get 2 t
Semtex settled
Warrior in Dynopolis complete next round
Xerxes SE into southern oasis
Cyrus SE over iron river
Banana Joe to southern wheat to irrigate and road

Provolution Sep 01, 2005, 02:24 AM Turn 27
No need for screenie here, redundant
Pottery in one turn, slider at 50 % for 8 gold, still 1 turn.
Cyrus killed barbarian East
Xerxes found mountain range matching our own in Flippistan
new population and warrior in Dynopolis
Provolution Sep 02, 2005, 06:36 PM Turn28 No need for screenie here, redundant
Pottery gained, Alphabet as number 2 per poll. Slider at 90 % for 1 gold, still 9 turns for alphabet
Cyrus found Elephant, eastern site, some whales too
Xerxes spotted southern hill
Dynopolis changed to Granary per Satrap Greekguy instructions.
Provolution Sep 04, 2005, 06:39 PM Turn29 Actions
Xerxes moves onto southern mountain, sees a lot of Southern land
Cyrus, discovers a bountiful eastcoast, whales and fishes
Banana Joe completes irrigation of Wheat on Foodplains by Carpetbomb
Josephine Baker goes Eastwards to connect iron to future new coastal city east of Dancing Banana, iron connected in 9 turns by road, Iron City up the exact same turn, both Iron City founded and Iron connected turn 38, do we call this micromanagement or what.
Carpetbomb completes new warrior, starts granary
second thought on Dynopolis, reverts to old instruction by satrap Greekguy, calling for Southern barrack
Tilechanges, Semtex takes over irrigated wheat from DB, DB utilizes Elephant tile.
Slider at 90 %, plus 1 gold, alphabet in 7 turns, this is going fast.
I will propose to temporarily abandon Dancing Banana, for us to minimize corruption and waste by centralizing our capital in Carpetbomb. Own thread for that.
DEMOGRAPHICS RANKING
we got the biggest economy, biggest production, biggest land, second largest population and we lead in score, and we are connected to iron in 9 turns, not bad for a persona non grata at CFC. Thanks for the great support team mates at TNT, without your input,we would not be here.
Provolution Sep 06, 2005, 02:37 PM Turn30

Provolution Sep 07, 2005, 04:04 PM Turn 31

Provolution Sep 09, 2005, 02:44 AM Turn 32
Positioned Xerxes westwards, we need to go south very soon from the hills to pillage/diplomacy Team Doughnut.
Cyrus found out the structure of the Eastcoast, and I recommend him to send him to Dynopolis, building a barracks, and upgrade him to veteran immortal as soon as iron is connected and iron city is build
Otherwise, Dynopolis connected to roadgrid in two turns, iron in 6.
Slider at 80 %, gives 4 turns for alphabet regardless, but 4 gold at 80 %.
Soon at 30 gold, buying us an immortal upgrade.
Relocation of palace due in only one turn.
Provolution Sep 15, 2005, 04:08 PM Turn 34
I decided to turn the settler back to original site, since that was key in our plan, the plan we polled. Whatever happens, I EXPECT Dancing Banana be abandoned the very same turn we resettle, and remember namechange Dancing Banana and Carpetbomb.
We cannot waste all the improved tiles just for the iron site, besides, we need to build some warriors for future upgrades. I also decided to turn Cyrus (vet) back to Dynopolis for immortal upgrade.
I really did not like that the polled palace jump was ignored, and I really think that instruction thread should be in place and respected. I did not like that we moved that settler out, that wasted us several shields as well as the waste from the delayed palace jump. Strider, next time, read a couple of threads before you play the save.
I think what was done was not very good, but rather average. Then again, my own fault I did not show up.

This stuff does not belong in the played turns thread Provolution. No one is happy that our plan went awry but our deadline came and went and (as I said before in a more appropriate thread) Strider did not have time to search the forums and read threads. Strider's play was better than the alternative of losing a turn.
BTW, would you please post a screen shot or two when you play a turn? Two turns have now passed since we found the purple borders and and we've seen nothing more of the area.
Ginger_Ale Sep 15, 2005, 04:47 PM Just making sure: you are renaming the cities so that your new capital has the old capital's name, since the abandoning of your palace will have your new capital have a different name, right? This isn't to confuse the enemy?

I'm pretty sure what we are doing is this (note i'm not president):
1. Abandon our cap. city Dancing Banana
2. Build new city on same spot
3. Rename our new capital Dancing Banana (current name is Carpetbomb)
4. Name our new city on site of former capital Carpetbomb
Hope this helps in clearing stuff up. :)
Ginger_Ale Sep 15, 2005, 05:53 PM Indeed, that is the process of which I am speaking. I did not think renaming cities was for the purpose of confusing the enemy.
Provolution Sep 15, 2005, 06:59 PM We have met no Civ yet, so this argumentation is void and non-valid, we do this to respect the existing polls on capital naming.

I hope everyone can see these images.
donsig Oct 22, 2005, 06:18 PM Twelve hours went by so I played the turn. Hope that's okay with everyone.
Grendopolis made a worker which was sent towards Carpetbomb. Barracks started in Grendopolis for now. Northern warrior fortified in Carpetbomb.
Lower the science rate to 70%. Math still in three turns but now we are +3gpt.
Fort Incendiary founded and currently has a garrison of two regular and two veteran immortals. Another immortal will be ready next turn in Dancing Banana. We have a strong army compared to Iroq and the Galls. Iroq has no masonry, ivory or iron. :)

Xerxes moved south to the coast. I suggest he go east into the forest next...

TimBentley Oct 25, 2005, 01:05 PM Only about 2 hours to go, so I played.
Dancing Banana produced an immortals, I MMed it to grow in 2. Science to 80%, switched taxman in Dynopolis to scientist. Next turn it'll get a warrior garrison, so the scientist can be fired and science can go to 40% (1g waste, but oh well). Xerxes moved to the forest, here's the situation:
donsig Oct 28, 2005, 08:22 PM It is my great misfortune to be the one to pass on this terrible news:
Xerxes has perished. He died nobly on the battlefield under a hail of Iroqi arrows (or so says the battle report). A moment of silence please. [donsig removes his cap]
[silence]
Science slid down to 30%, math next turn, +14 gpt.
The Iroqi women moved north as workers start roads near Dancing Banana and Fort Incendiary.
Artaxerxes fortifies in Dynopolis and another warrior does the same in Dancing Banana.
Our stack of 4 immortals moved south, right next to an Iroqi warrior on a mountain. (The mountain near the diamonds, IIRC.) Looks like that Golden Age is right around the corner.
donsig Oct 31, 2005, 04:13 PM We have learned math and can now count the number of Iroqi and barbarian warriors in sight. Currency came up next in the queue and writing is next in line. After that we have nothing chosen.
Dynopolis recruited an immortal and will have another ready in five turns. The Iroqi warrior disappeared from the mountain. One of our immortals took his place and we now see the Iroqi south of the mountain as well as two barbarian warriors further south. Our other three immortals moved to block the Iroqi warrior from advancing towards Fort Incendiary and have uncovered a new village ripe for pillaging! Two other immortal moved from Dynopolis and are just north of Fort Incendiary.
http://img290.imageshack.us/img290/7622/tnt54map5ty.jpg
Lowered the lux rate to 10% and upped the science rate to 80%. Currency in 20 turns, +1 gpt and 14 g in the treasury. Note Carpetbomb's granary is complete next turn. None of the other teams have iron, incense, ivory or masonry.
http://img290.imageshack.us/img290/6264/tnt54f12oi.jpg
Iroqi women move north and there's a funny looking green ship floating in the northern sea!
http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/3965/tnt54ship3qj.jpg
donsig Nov 03, 2005, 09:11 PM Popped the hut and three barbs appeared. Two dispatched immediately. Moved an immortal in position to attack one of the fortified southern barbs. With three warriors to protect six cities and our roading crew in the southern jungle we cannot afford to let the Iroqi or any barbarians pass our immortal forces. Unfortunately this delays our progress towards the Iroqi cities.
The good news is the Iroqi warrior does not seem to want to sacrifice himself on the shrine of our Golden Age. He keeps moving away from our immortals. This is good as we really need to get some more cities in place before we trigger our GA.
The granary in Carpetbomb was completed.
The Greeks / M.I.A. now have masonry, though the Iroqi and KISS still lack that tech. M.I.A. does not have mathematics.
Here's the current tactical situation:
http://img308.imageshack.us/img308/5177/tnt55map9qj.jpg
donsig Nov 06, 2005, 11:05 AM The Iroqi warrior has vanished. A one hit point barbarian remianed. Did the Iroqi fall victim to the barbs? Here's the situation at the start of our turn:
http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/6449/tnt56b45yt.jpg
Vet immortals attacked barbarians and were victorious though neither were promoted. Other immortals moved south. The tactical picture at the end of our turn:
http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/1456/tnt56aft4bp.jpg
Grenadopolis was switched from barracks to worker. It will be ready in five turns. Hired a taxman in Dancing Banana to give us a 1 gpt surplus while maintaining science research rate.
We have two workers mining near Danacing Banana and another roading south of Fort Incendiary. The Iroqi women are now in position to mine near Semtex.
donsig Nov 07, 2005, 08:52 PM Our seventh immortal was produced in Dancing Banana. He crossed the river to access the road to the south. Our other immortals moved south. No Iroqi or barbarians in sight:
http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/7316/tnt57map5xc.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Micomanaged Semtex (granary in 3, no growth), Carpetbomb (settler and growth in 3) and Dancing Banana (settler and growth in 4). We must decide within a turn or two if we want to actually build the granary in Semtex or switch it to a wonder.
Here are the F1 and F3 screens:

donsig Nov 09, 2005, 10:49 PM Workers building roads, immortals moving south. Semtex switched to palace a sa wonder pre-build. MIA is building the pyramids in Black Hole.
MIA has ivory. Iroq has masonry and a new city:
http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/3056/tnt58irq3ma.jpg
donsig Nov 11, 2005, 09:57 PM Turn 59 played. Dynopolis produced an immortal (number 8 I think). All immortals moved south. There's an Iroqi warrior perched on a mountain as a lookout.
http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/6359/tnt59map8kn.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
donsig Nov 13, 2005, 09:22 PM We have a new settler from Carpetbomb. It will go to site A (western core city). Carpetbomb now making a spearman (4 turns).
The Iroqi have iron connected and a curragh off our coast:
http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/4300/tnt60map4rk.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
I sent an offer of math to the Greeks and masonry to the Galls. Please see the respective communication threads for details.
Look who has the top city! Everyone has now surpassed 200 points. M.I.A. is now building the Colussus in Heron. No sign of the Pyramids being built in Black Hole.
http://img439.imageshack.us/img439/2292/tnt60dem9sl.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Our road directly south of Fort Incendiary will be done in two turns. After that we will have three workers roading through the jungle. Hired a tax collector in Semtex and raised science rate to 90%. Here's the F1 screen:

donsig Nov 15, 2005, 05:25 PM Dancing Banana produced a settler, Grenadopolis and Fort Incendiary both produced workers. The  garrison moved out to escort our settler to the west. The Grenadopolis garrison is being transferred to  Here's the current map:

donsig Nov 17, 2005, 08:10 PM Not much to report. Both settlers will arrive at city locations next turn so on turn 64 we will have two brand spanking new cities. A couple turns after that we'll have another setter from
The Greeks upped their in game offer to the Initial Trinity plus 10 gold. I did not accept as we're going to try haggling for two more gold to help finance Prince Strider's Starbucks so we can all sit around and drink free coffee and eat doughnuts.
There are more Iroqi warriors and barbs in sight. See the Iroqi warplanning thread for pics.
donsig Nov 18, 2005, 09:29 PM We now know that the Iroqi do indeed have horses. Who will get their Golden Age first? See the Iroqi warplanning thread for more details.
Closer to the home front we will NOT have two new cities next turn. There's a renegede Iroqi warrior threatening our western core city site. I fortified our lone warrior in the forest and moved our settler back to the hill out of harm's way.
http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/4295/tnt63nor9nv.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
We no longer have a military edge over the Iroqi:
http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/1375/tnt63f37oq.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
donsig Nov 20, 2005, 10:44 PM The Greeks have given us the wheel, warrior code, ceremonial burial and 12 gold for mathematics. We are researching currency which will be ready in 9 turns. We have 23 gold in the treasury box and a 1 gpt deficit. Science is at 90%, luxuries at 10% with a tax collector in Semtex.
Our warrior, Goliath, who had been escorting a settler to the site of our western core city, was attacked and defeated in the forest southwest of Semtex. Here is the situation before any of our units moved:
http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/3576/tnt64b4n3do.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
As you can see both Semtex and Dancing Banana are ungarrisoned and in addition our settler and worker also unprotected.
The good news is we have a brand new regular spearman unit in Carpetbomb. It must cross the river this turn and will be in Semtex next turn before the Iroqi can plunder our wonder building city. Likewise, we will have a new veteran spearman unit in Dancing Banana next turn. The settler and worker will be moved out of harm's way this turn. We also have a new veteran immortal (vbraun) in Dynopolis that will head towards the Iroqi warrior threatening Semtex. Here is the scene after our moves:
http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/5043/tnt64afn3uc.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Team M.I.A. is now building the Pyramids in -->Look Here<-- . I'm sure they are grateful that we spearheaded the rule change allowing for unlimited renaming of cities. ;)
donsig Nov 22, 2005, 12:02 AM Micromanaged things a little. Here's the F1 screen:
http://img454.imageshack.us/img454/7379/tnt65f16cu.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
The Iroqi warrior got greedy and occupied the hill south of Semtex. This gave them a wonderful view of both Semtex and Dancing Banana with none of our units in sight. They are a bit cocky now thinking they will trash one of our cities. I've moved so as to best disguise our forces, hoping to entice that warrior to move due east next to Dancing Banana. If he does then our nexest immortal (Pharnakes) will attack (with a better than 90% chance of initiating our Golden Age). Here's how things looked in the north after our moves:
http://img454.imageshack.us/img454/6359/tnt65nor7sh.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
donsig Nov 23, 2005, 01:10 PM The Iroqi warrior near Semtex didn't take the bait, but there's another in the jungle. We are closing in on our Golden Age. Here's a zoomed out version of the map.
http://img308.imageshack.us/img308/6328/tnt66map5nj.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
I sent the vet spear back to Dancing Banana - we need an mp there. Micromanaged Carpetbomb to use the newly irrigated plains tile. Here's the F1 screen:

http://img283.imageshack.us/img283/6065/tnt67f15hi.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Here's the north. We'll have another city next turn. (Carbomb or Horsebomb?) This city will give us access to horses and we'll be able to build chariots.
http://img283.imageshack.us/img283/9408/tnt67nor6ld.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
donsig Nov 27, 2005, 11:39 PM http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/676/tnt68ga7dn.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Horsebomb settled - we can now build chariots.
Shifted our three garrison units around so Carpetbomb would have an MP. Unabomb isn't connected yet so perhaps we should make a few warriors there for MP duty.
Carpetbomb will make a settler in two (just as it grows). This settler will go to the west to settle the western core city we tried to settle earlier. Carpetbomb will make another settler after that.
Dancing Banana can now make immortals in three turns. Dynopolis grows next turn so I'm not sure if it should make more immortals or switch to spears or chariots.
Semtex is 30 turns away from completing the Statue of Zeus.
Here's how it looks:
http://img465.imageshack.us/img465/7091/tnt68nor7mn.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
We'll have currency in three turns:
http://img465.imageshack.us/img465/7851/tnt68f16dz.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
donsig Nov 29, 2005, 08:16 PM Dancing Banana and Dynopolis both produced an immortal this turn. We now have an immortal sitting on a southern mountain and we can see two squadrons of Iroqi mounted warriors south of the jungle. (See http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=129613 for more details.)
Here's the domestic advisor screen:

Here's our country. Note that Pharnakes is two turns away from popping a hut.

donsig Nov 30, 2005, 07:06 PM Carpetbomb produced a settler and is set to make another in five turns. Took the irrigated wheat tile away from Semtex to boost Carpetbomb's regrowth.
Unabomb produced a warrior. It will head to Dancing Banana for MP duty. Unabomb set to make a worker (and grow) in four turns.
MIA now has horses. The Galls offered us mysticism for math. I did not accept. See the Gall communication thread.
Here is the F11 screen and a screenie of our country:

donsig Dec 02, 2005, 11:46 PM We have currency! In honor of this new discovery I've sent all our dilligent wise men out to make gold coins. Yep, I turned off science research for now. Two reasons. First is we'll reap over 40 gold per turn. This will allow us to upgrade a regular warrior to an immortal. If we leave science off for three more turns after that we can upgrade two more warriors. The second reason is I wasn't sure what to research since I don't know what we can get for currency. We can research either writing, horseback riding or mysticism in four turns. Once we have a deal set with the Greeks we can restore research funding.
Did some micromanaging so that both Semtex and Carpetbomb will grow next turn. Switched produciton around as well in favor of chariots and a warrior. Here's the F11 screen:
http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/4978/tnt71f119of.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Pharnakes popped the hut and three Libyan barbarians appeared. There was also a Parthian barb near Dynopolis. An as yet un-named immortal dispatched it, losing one hp without getting promoted. Here's the north:
http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/8144/tnt71nor5no.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
donsig Dec 03, 2005, 11:15 PM Two chariots and an immortal produced and moved as planned. We found the Parthian village on the east coast. In the west, Pharnakes had been attacked by a Libyan barbarian. Pharnakes lost one hp but repelled the attacker. The other two Libyans had fortified, one on a mountain, the other on grassland. Pharnakes attacked the one in the lowlands, inflicting one hp damage before being felled by the Libyans! (Talk about bad luck!)
Micromanaged Danacing Banana and Dynopolis to slow growth of the former and spur growth of the latter.
I'm tempted to send our next settler down to settle Fort Carbon Peroxcides so we can benefit from the gems. Then, if we can get Carpetbomb up to ten shields per turn, switching that city over to military production.
Did not receive any offers from either KISS (for math) or MIA for currency. Hoping our chariot will far better agianst the Parthians than Pharnakes did against the Libyans so we can make 25g. Turned research back on to get horseback riding in 4 turns, with a 13 gpt surplus. Our treasury is at 63 gold, enough to upgrade the warrior in Dancing Banana if we need to in a pinch.
No one is building a wonder at this time since F7 no longer shows the Greeks working on the Pyramids. (So are we all doing a palace pre-build?)
Here is the north and the F11 screen:

donsig Dec 08, 2005, 09:40 PM The Greek offer of horseback riding, cermonial burial and writing for currency was accepted. We will have the three techs next turn if MIA accepts the deal they offered. Turned off research for this turn so we will earn 42 gold. Attacked the Parthian camp with our chariot - we lost one hp and sacked the camp! That put us over 100 gold. We will have enough to upgrade our three chariots next turn and still have around 20 gold left over. The two chariots in the works will be switched to horsemen. We will build a new city next turn. Here's the north:
http://img278.imageshack.us/img278/2849/tnt73nor3xh.jpg
In the south, Cyrus and Cambyses joined forces on a mountain. The two squads of mounted warriors are still in sight. We have lost track of the remaining Iroqi units. We have four immortals, under the command of Crown Prince Strider, protecting our road building gang. Another tile through the jungle has been roaded. Here's the south:
http://img278.imageshack.us/img278/84/tnt73sou0vc.jpg
donsig Dec 11, 2005, 11:21 AM Played the turn last night. Sorry for the delay in this report. RL got in the way - went to see The Empire Strikes Back on the big screen. :)
Settled Provobomb, the first of our two western core cities. No Iroqi in sight in the north. Our immortal patrolling in the west has spotted one of the Libyans who did in Pharnakes. We have another settler ready to move out. Upgraded two chariots, the third is back in Dynopolis to be upgraded next turn. Had to hire an entertainer in Carbomb, so production there was switched from warrior to worker. Here is a map of the north:
http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/9780/tnt74nor8cp.jpg
Here's the F11 screen. I set research at 50% and choose philosophy. This will take four tunrs, give us another wonder option (along with the Statue, Pyramids and Oracle) and will replenish our treasury after the chariot upgrades. Construction will be next (according to the wishes of team members) assuming the Greeks aren't already researching it. We have a few turns to find out while we learn to philosophize.

donsig Dec 12, 2005, 10:47 PM Our newest immortal and a horseman crossed the river on their way to meet the Iroqi mounted warriors in the jungle. Our third (and last) chariot was upgraded in Dynopolis. Our other horseman entered the jungle in hopes of setting a trap for the Iroqi mounted warriors.
Shahram attacked the Libyans, killing one and losing two hitpoints. If the other Libyan attacks, Shahram has a 96% chance of winning. Moved our settler towards our second western core site - the spot Shahram occupies.
Switched Carpetbomb over to a spearman.
The Galls now have math.
Here's the north:
http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/858/tnt75nor7kh.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
donsig Dec 14, 2005, 11:08 PM We have dropped to third place in the scoring. KISS is at 361, MIA at 290, TNT at 288 and D'nuts at 264.
Shahram fortified to heal and protect the site for our second western core city. Our settler will be there in two turns and the city will be built on the third turn. We need a name for it! Our military advisor says there are Cuman tribes near Provobomb.
Did some micromanaging and Danacing Banana, Dynopolis and Semtex are all producing 10 shields per turn now. is not growing now but will resume growth when a second MP arrives next turn. Semtex will resume growth once another grassland is mined. Switched the entertainer in Unabomb to a scientist and this allowed us to lower our science rate to 40%. Hired a taxman in  to avoid rioting :crazyeye: so now we're at +24 gpt. Philosophy in two turns and the Mausoleum should be done three turns after that! Note - our treasury is currently 29g and not 89g. I upgraded Artaxerxexes in Dynopolis after taking the screenshot.

donsig Dec 16, 2005, 11:33 PM The remaining Libyan came down from the mountain so Shahram attacked and wiped out the barbarians. Our settler moved closer to our next city site. The Iroqi warrior that once had dreams of sacking Semtex has reappeared on the iron hill. Here's a shot of the west:
http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/1415/tnt77wes5zd.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Our navy is born!:woohoo: Grendopolis has started work on another curragh which will double the size of our fleet! We are one turn from philosophy. Hired another scientist so we could lower the research rate another notch. Shifted our garrison units around a bit.
Here's the east:
http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/9214/tnt77eas7jf.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
donsig Dec 19, 2005, 10:43 PM We have philosophy! Started researching construction at 90%. Sent an offer of horseback riding to the Celts / Galls.
Artaxerxes backtracked to Dynopolis to act as MP. Our new horseman in Horsebomb, dubbed greekguy attacked the Hurrian barbarians. He lost two hps but defeated the barb and found their camp.
Kia (a 4/4 vet immortal) finished off the sole remaining Iroqi squad, ending the battle of Banana Plains. Kia lost a hp but was promoted to elite!
Next turn we'll have a new city and a couple more military units. (BTW, we currently have 26 units and can support 36.) The turn after that three horsemen will joinn Crown Prince Strider at the end of Military Road. The turn after that we'll have another settler ready to head for Fort Carbonperoxides; the Mausoleum will be complete and our horsemen will begin to probe the flatlands south of the jungle.

BCLG100 Jan 06, 2006, 05:18 PM is there much point to be had in disbanding that camp just yet? could we not use it as a training area to help our units grow until our culture eventually overlaps it.
donsig Jan 08, 2006, 11:48 AM We have another settler heading south. Here's the east:

donsig Jan 09, 2006, 11:51 PM Our flagship spotted another barbarian galley. Fort Carbonperoxides has been founded. Switched a couple cities over to settlers.
http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/7526/tnt87eas0ud.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
In the west I sent a new regular horseman out to kill the two hp Iroqi warrior. According to the combat calculator we had a better than 80% chance of winning the battle. We lost and didn't even inflict any damage. Sent another new horseman out (this one a vet) and I almost had a stroke as he first got the Iroqi for one hp then lost three. We did win the final battle and there are no Iroqi units in sight. (If the second horseman would have lost I know a bloodvessel would have popped inside my brain and I'd be laying helpless on the floor right now.)
Re-sent our peace offering of currency and the Iroqi women.

donsig Jan 16, 2006, 04:42 PM Our immortal in the west was killed by a mounted warrior. The MW lost only one hp. Sent 60 gold off to the Greeks. They're supposed to send us code of laws and literature next turn. We'll also have construction next turn and we'll send it off to the Greeks then.
http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/2033/tnt89zom3ur.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
donsig Jan 18, 2006, 10:05 PM We have learned construction on our own and rec'd literature and code of laws from the Greeks. I've turned off research until our construction deal is completed.
We'll have a new city next turn and another the turn after that. The turn after that we'll have another settler.
MIA is now in anarchy.

donsig Jan 21, 2006, 07:16 PM We are in the Middle Ages! Our free tech was feudalism! We are now recuiting pikemen instead of spearmen.
The Anasazi are somewhere in the west of the Sacred Jungle. Here's the south:

donsig Jan 23, 2006, 10:10 PM Furbomb has been settled on the east coast. Our newest settler has headed south. He will settle south of the jungle on the incense. Shuffled spearmen and warriors around. There are three spearmen in Dancing Banana that will be upgraded to pikemen next turn. They will head south to garrison the city we're going to make to take the incence from the Iroqi.
Killed off the wandering Anasazi warrior but haven't found their camp yet.
The mounted warriors have disappeared from the hill in the west.

donsig Jan 27, 2006, 08:49 PM We have our first library. It is in Dynopolis. Upgraded three spearmen to pikemen. They will join our settler in Dynopolis next turn. Dancing Banana will turn out a new pike nest turn as well, so our settler will have a four pike escort down to the southern incense.
donsig II scouted south of the Sacred Jungle and picked off a one hp mounted warrior. He's now heavily outnumbered. See the Iroqi communication thread and Iroqi War Chronicles thread for more.
Research is still off since we haven't finalized plans with the Greeks yet. They are still in anarchy so they're not researching yet either.

http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/5128/tnt94f112qw.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Our forces in the south are near the breaking point as the Iroqi near the military road. donsig II was killed and peace talks have stalled. We have four pikemen in or near Dynopolis that are marching south. There are a couple spearmen in Dynopolis to be upgraded next turn and Fort Incendiary will generate another pike in two turns. Will these make it in time to stall the Iroqi incursion into the Sacred Jungle? What about the barbarians coming frm the west? Stay tuned...
http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/4775/tnt94zom8vo.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
donsig Feb 01, 2006, 10:51 PM Pulled out three military units into Fort Carbonperoxides. One spear, one immortal and one beat up horse is not enough to fend off 5 mounted warriors. I sent an in game peace offer to the Nuts and a private message to Robi D saying we accept the zones of control as long as we can build cities in the jungle.
Set research to 80%. We'll have engineering in 22 turns.
http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/2516/tnt95zom7ih.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
donsig Feb 05, 2006, 09:21 AM Our two warriors sallied forth from Semtex after making sacrifices to the one true supreme being. They were successful in driving off two of the mounted warrior units who retreated to the west. One warrior took one hp damage, the other was unscathed. :)
In light of these successes, our spearman was moved to the plains to shiled Carpetbomb and a pike and warrior were moved to Semtex from Dancing Banana. Semtex is now fairly secure - the Iroqi would have to defeat our two warriors with their damaged MWs and them launch two more successful attacks against our Semtex garrison. Carpetbomb is in more danger. If they kill our spearman they can walk in and take Carpetbomb. Whether they'd raze it or keep it is in doubt. I moved the Iroqi women north as bait.
Semtex, Horsebomb and Carpetbomb were all switched to horsemen which were pop rushed. Dancing Banana was also switched to a horseman. If Carpetbomb falls we can retake it or kill off the invaders.
Dynopolis was switched to an immortal and the warrior there was upgraded. The two pikes in Dynopolis were sent north across the river. The five pikes and settler moved south along the military road.
http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/39/tnt96nw3gw.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Our military is now average compared to the Galls but we are still weak compared to the Iroqi and Greeks.
Here's the F1 screen. We've dropped to 4 in production. This is probably due to our three pop rushes and some micromanaging I did. We should bounce back to third next round.
http://img372.imageshack.us/img372/7000/tnt96f110gf.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
donsig Feb 07, 2006, 09:15 PM Killed two MWs in the north, wounded another. Raised lux 20%, turned off research. If we're going into anarchy soon, then what's the point? We can use the gold to upgrade our last two spearmen or save it for a rainy day. Didn't attack with our horseman in the south. Our stack of pikes is on the military road to give us another round to decide where to settle. I did place a vet pike on the old FC site just in case. (Did that after I took the screenshot.)
Sent an in game peace offer to the Iroqi along with currency and their old women. I accepted so perhaps we will have peace next turn. In anticipation of that I switched Dancing Banana and Dynopolis over to settlers which will be complete next turn. We can have another settler in three turns if we delay our revolution.

donsig Feb 10, 2006, 09:17 PM THE WAR IS OVER!!!
The Iroqi Have paid us the 25 gold agreed upon. They are probably unhappy since they moved their mw next to Semtex which was guarded only by a one hit point warrior. :) Our two newest settlers are ontheir way to rebuild both Carpetbomb and Fort Incendiary. Our other settler has reached the edge of the Sacred Jungle along with a bunch of our pikemen. I propose we build a city right their and christen it Torusbomb. There was a barb warrior on the military road and a vet pikeman killed it off.
EDIT: I lowered the lux rate to 20% and hired entertainers in three cities. Our production is still very low because of this. We also built a couple settlers. Dancing Banana produces 7 shields/turn. Semtex and Dynopolis also produce that but each loses one to corruption.

donsig Feb 23, 2006, 02:28 PM The anarchy continues. Sent our horseman charging down the hill and across the river in the east to take out the barb on the coast. Couldn't even hurt the thing. Our horseman retreated but the barb can counter attack. Our bad luck on the battlefield just doesn't end. :(
In the south, TimBently continues to make short recon trips south of the Sacred Jungle. There is wine / grapes on the east coast near the jungle edge. We should make it a priority to get a city down there. With border expansion it would give us the wine.

donsig Feb 26, 2006, 08:55 PM The good news is there are only three turns of anarchy left.
The bad news is there are barbarians all over the place! Our horseman in the east was not attacked by the Parthians and so he recrossed the river and reclimbed the hill. A pikeman and a couple warriors head east to try to clear things there.
In the west, there seems to be no Nutter city near the silks but there is a Circassian camp and horseman near by. Worse still is the Harappan horseman who has appeared in the hills near Shilhanopolis. It is in reach of our workers! I managed to move one (and our settler) onto a tile with a spearman but Banana Joe and Saeed had been working on the jungle road. I told them to stop becasue there were more important things to do (like running for their lives) but they are so darn industrious they couldn't move! Moved a pike back towards them but the barbarina horseman can run down our two defenseless workers if it so chooses. :(

donsig Feb 28, 2006, 10:12 PM Anarchy drags on. At least our cities are still growing. Our unit cost will be slightly lower when we enter republic. We lost the two workers to the Harappan horseman and also lost a warrior to the Parthians. :( Looks like the Iroqi are having trouble getting on their side of the jungle. The good news is there is no city near the silks. Our settler and a worker have joined a pikeman in the jungle.
http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/2700/t105zoom1no.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
donsig Mar 03, 2006, 10:19 PM One turn of anarchy left! Slipshod (of Iroqi war fame) attacked a Parthian warrior and was promoted to veteran. In the Sacred Jungle, Nasir (our sole remaining immortal), successfully attacked a Harappan horseman. We now have a pikeman on the silk mountain. No purple cities in sight. :) There is a mounted warrior on another mount in the jungle. :( The Iroqi are now in the middle ages, but are also still in anarchy.
I took some screen shots but didn't have time to post them. Will add them in tomorrow (I hope).

I micro-mananged as best I could. As you can see we will have engineering in 13 turns and currently have a 1 gpt surplus. Lux rate is at 10% to keep Dancing Banana and Semtex from rioting. Once we have the furs within our borders that could be lowered. Right now it would cost 320 g (which we don't have) to rush the library in Furbomb. We have a horse and warrior near the Parthian camp ready to attack next turn. That should net us 25g. Moved our settler into position near the silks and right next to the Circassian camp. Settling the city next turn should give us another 25g so we should have 316 gold in the treasury next turn. The Furbomb library should cost only 156g next turn to rush. :) If we rush it next turn we should have the furs within five turns.
Started a cathedral in  It will take 18 turns. We can use it as a pre-build for a wonder - it would take us half way to some of them. We could decide to just build the cathedral if we need it or we could switch over to a market. The market would take 12 turns. Dynopolis is going to make a settler next turn since it's set to grow next turn. Changed Carpetbomb around to produce a worker in two turns when it grows. Grenadapolis continues to work on the harbor and Unabomb stays on the library since it will be dome in 3 turns. All other cities either workingon pikes or workers (except vbraunopolis which only has one shield in the bank and makes 1 spt).
All four teams are now republics. Our current support cost is 26 gpt. We're currently doing alot of irrigation work on the floodplains since we need  , Carpetbomb and Dynopolis to become cities. will grow in five turns the others are still quite a ways off. We'll save 4gpt for each town that grows into a city.

donsig Mar 07, 2006, 08:46 PM Founded Fort Midnight Tavern by the silks. Now all we have to do is make sure the Iroqi don't burn it down someday. Building the city netted us 25g and our horseman in the east dispersed the Parthians for another 25g. TimBentley found an Anasazi camp in the southern jungle.
We will have engineering in eight turns now instead of 13. I wonder if someone else discovered it already?

It doesn't show up in this screenie but I did change the name of Fort Midnight Tavern to Mezzonotte Keep. Rushed the library in Furbomb for 152g. donsig Mar 13, 2006, 06:34 PM We built a new pikeman in Semtex. According to our military advisor we have 31 units, are allowed 19 and are paying 24 gpt for unit support. We are still weak compared to all others and there are Harappan tribes near Provobomb. Now that the Parthian meance has been eradicated in the east, our forces are moving west to search for the Harappans. Here's the big picture:

donsig Mar 16, 2006, 04:20 PM Upgraded our last two spearmen to pikemen. 144g left in the treasury. Due to micromanaging we will now learn engineering in three turns instead of 4 (making 95 beakers per turn) with a 1gpt deficit. At 100% taxes we'd make 90gpt. Furbomb's borders will expand in one turn so we should have furs connected next turn!
Our peace treaty expires in 6 turns. We have 14 pikes, 1 immortal, 2 horsemen and two warriors. We'll have 6 more pikemen ready (but not all in place) before the treaty ends. I suggest we rush walls in key cities (where the Iroqi can see the walls) in an effort to dissuade the Iroqi from attacking us. Here's the big picture:

donsig Mar 19, 2006, 09:21 PM We now have furs connected (our fourth luxury.) Our harbor will be completed in three turns. Settled Fruitbomb on the southern edge of the Sacred Jungle. Sent a worker and a couple pikes that way. There are five turns left in our peace treaty.
Rushed walls in the Keep for 60g. Wanted to do that so the Iroqi nearby will be sure to see our defenses. A couple more pikes moved south. We found the Harappan camp in the west. We have 84g and will have engineering in two turns at which point we will turn off research. We'll make about 80gpt and with 25g frmo the Harappans we should have a war chest of over 300g if the Iroqi do not renew our peace treaty.
We currently have 2 warriors, 1 immortal, 2 horsmen, 15 pikemen and 10 workers. We are allowed 20 units so we are paying 22gpt in support costs.

donsig Apr 14, 2006, 12:16 AM Just pretty much fortified our forces. We took out a barb camp, the Greeks did send 40 g as per agreement. Here's a picture:

donsig Apr 16, 2006, 11:31 AM We got 40 gold from the Greeks. That was our second installment of 40g from them. We raised a new immortal in Semtex. That put our forces at 1 curragh, 8 immortals, 22 pikes, 1 warrior, 10 workers and a settler. We weak compared to KISS, average compared to MIA and strong compared to the Iroqi. I upgraded our warrior for 60g and suddenly we were average compared to KISS again. (Last time something like that happened one of us was able to estimate the Iroqi's actual units. Can this be done again?)

donsig Apr 19, 2006, 07:54 PM Moved our settler back to  We got our third installment of 40g from the Greeks. Our curragh continues to sail along the coast of Greece. Here's the big picture:

We still need our lux rate at 10% to keep  and Dynopolis from rioting. We could set science at 40% with a 1gpt deficit. We'd be able to research theology in 17, invention in 22 or chivalry in 14. At 100% science we'd get theo in 7, inv in 9 and chiv in 6. The deficit would be 62gpt and two cities rioting. donsig Apr 24, 2006, 01:11 AM We sent gems to Greece and they sent us 40g and furs. The people love us and we now have a west wing on our palace. Our two horsemen each cleared a barb camp, meeting us 50 gold. (Som cleared the Shanginas in the west and TimBentley found and cleared the Partians in the east.) Rushed walls in Furbomb for 36g. Incense is hooked up - offered it to the Nutters. Here's the big picture:

donsig Apr 26, 2006, 12:54 AM Accepted the Iroqi wines for incense deal. It's now up to them to accept it or not. We rec'd another 40g from the Greeks. Our last payment? We have a new pike in Carpet bomb. Rushed a trebuchet in one of our cities. Cost was 28g. Found the Galls. They're on the iron will in the east and they have a settler there!

donsig Apr 28, 2006, 08:21 PM We have a new pike and two new trebuchets. Our palace has expanded. The Iroqi have accepted our offer. We now have wines and they have incense. I switch the library in Fort Incendiary to a trebuchet and rushed it for 36g. We have rebuilt Unabomb. Here's the big picture:

We finished the library in Provobomb as well as an immortal in  and a trebuchet in Fort Incendiary. I switched Grenadopolis over from a settler to a worker - it will be available next turn.

donsig May 10, 2006, 11:05 PM Not much to report. Built a new pikeman in Dynopolis. Improving tiles in the west. Upped lux rate to 10%. A Greek ship is visible on our north coast. The Galls built another city over here.

donsig May 16, 2006, 09:41 PM New pike in DB, new rax in Semtex and new settler in Gren.
Rushed pikes in Fruit and Torus (84 and 96 g respectively). Rushed rax in Shil (80 g). Carpet's rax is done next turn and Provo's the turn after that. Didn't rush the one in vnraun as it would have been 148g. Micormanaged things so DB now makes 15spt and Semtex and Dynopolis 10spt each. Carpet is at 7spt, Provo @ 6spt and Shil and vbraun @ 4 spt (though Shil needs two tiles worked).
Sent silks to the Greeks.

Strider May 20, 2006, 11:01 PM Play our turn. Almost every city is building a pike, and if it isn't currently.. it will be next turn. I took two workers and and had them join with Unabomb, that should give us another decent production city. Should we join the settler in Unabomb also? That will boost the city to 5 population?

Rik Meleet May 21, 2006, 10:43 AM Uploading to civfanatics.net is not the smartest you can do as it is publicly visible. Why not use imageshack ?
donsig May 30, 2006, 10:10 PM Moved pike from hill to Gren. Moved two workers from hill to SW. One worker stuck on hill. Most likely scared stiff.
Could not move galley out of Gren sinbce it's blocked by Greek and Gall vessels. Named it Titanic and attacked the Gall ship. (I really, really wanted to attck the Twitching Aarvard just for Spite.) The Titanic sunk the A.R.S.E. Igor's Hope and sailed west. There were a total of seven Gall galleys visible after the ARSE went down. Wasn't sure what to do with the other galley. Sailed it out a couple tiles. It can be sent back to Carpet and disbanded next turn for the shields.
Joined two workers to vbraun. Moved three workers into the forest south of our other iron.
Upped the lux rate to 20% since we lose our harbor and furs next turn when the Galls sack Gren.
Som sallied forth from FI and killed GS squad 8 which used to be an elite MW.

greekguy Jun 02, 2006, 12:05 PM Moved some healed up Immortals and trebs towards Carpetbomb, left the other Immortals to heal in Unabomb, with pikes and 2 trebs protecting the town. moved a pike into Carpetbomb, not sure if Galls can attack the city this turn, but they have a Gallic Sword with them up North (i think). entire Gall stack up north is longbows and pikes with full health. killed a barb with an Immortal and started roading forest west of Provobomb to hook up iron. rushed 2 pikes, and switched pike in Shilhanopolis to horse. started barracks in Unabomb. moved a pike north from Fort I, in hopes of distracted Iroqi MWs, whose stack bypassed Fort I, and can take vrbaunopolis this turn if they want to, as city is undefended. here's screenshots of Iroqi and Gall warfronts.
