Caltrop. Hand Weapon. The "crow's foot" was first used in 4th century B.C. It consisted of four or more sharp iron spikes that were thrown in front of a horse's hooves or infantrymen's feet.

Many thanks to Bjornlo, and Righteous Fist. :D :D

Interesting. I'm assuming it would be used like an ancient land mine (immobile, high defensive bombard?)

@Righteous Fist--Which "Alexander the Great Scenario" do you refer to?

Roman Legion has made myriad solid contributions since joining. I hope he will ignore that remark and give it the attention it deserves.

He he. We now officially have too many land mines in Civ.

Naval mines, tripwire, regular land mines, and metal spikes. :D

Thank you for adding a unit that adds more depth and strategy to the game.

For the short description in the stats part, put:

Hurts to step on.

For the longer one in the description one, put:

A [caltrop] (jack rock, star nail) is a device made up of four (or more) sharp nails or spines arranged in such a manner that one of them always points upward from a stable base (for example, a tetrahedron or tetrapod). In the military context, caltrops serve to slow down the advance of horses, war elephants, wheeled vehicles and human troops.
^
Caltrops come in a wide range of sizes, from small caltrops only a few centimeters across — used by ninja to deter humans in soft-soled shoes — to massive steel (Czech hedgehogs) or concrete devices (dragon's teeth) designed to wedge into tank treads. Scattered around an encampment at night small, sharp caltrops can cause attackers stealthily treading on them to raise their own alarm.
^
Modern police and security forces often use spike strips against vehicles with inflated rubber tires, a device similar in principle to a patch of caltrops.

Or you can use the description in the beginning.

This one looks fun! :goodjob: Just a few questions while I download:

The cost 2, does that mean 2 shields or 20? Depends on the editor you use. Civ Vanilla and PTW just mulitply whatever you enter by 10, Civ Conquests Edit uses the actual entry (so 35 would mean 35 shields to produce, not 350).

How come Code of Laws as a requisite? And does it seems fair that a few caltrops on the ground have an average chance of 67% to defeat an entire group of Warriors? I would be better if the caltrop had -1 or -2 to HP, so that it would most likely do SOME damage before being taken care of (killed).

I've never used mine units before, but like I said, this one looks like a lot of fun! :D

Sure is nice. Air units for first ones are difficult, if you're a poser user like myself, so congrats for it.

No flamescreen, I made this with Flicster and Paint Shop Pro 4(PSP) as I will call it alot, not to be confused with Playstation Portable. and silverknight 2 as in regular civ 3, You basically answered your own question.
