The F-11 function gives Top 5 Cities and Demographics

It is an in-game function ... and therefore everyone will be able to access it ...

The Dilemma is ... it gives information about civilizations that we may not necessarily have met.

I would like to monitor this information ... :mischief: it gives population of the cities ... we (and they  ) can get a rough idea about number of settlers/workers that have been spawned ...

However is it going against the spirit of the game rules?

Or do we justify it as rumours of people beyond our boarders ... the same justification to know Great Wonder information ...

Thoughts ...

You cant really create a rule you cant enforce. Its not like an unfair advantage, everyone can access the info. I thinks its fine to use.

I agree. After all, it is decidedly an in-game function. There is a prohibition against gaining exodata, but not endodata. I also assume the other will be doing it. Until it comes up in the UN, I think we should not hesitate to take these rumors from distant lands and probably true.

personally; I'm not to wild about using the F11 screen. is it in-game? yeah. Would it make sense if it really was 4000 B.C. having just built our first town? no. I don't have a problem with looking at the cities every once ina while, or checking up with land to see how we're stacking up in the expansion phase. I do have a problem with monitoring the screen every turn to decide when they buiklt a setteler, when they built a worker, how many luxuries they hooked up; etc. I would vote against extensive use of the F11 screen.

I have no problem with using the buttons. They can be used by all teams, so why shouldn't we.

i think this should be put to its full use until someone bands it if all teams use it then why not use it
also if the top 5 city thing gives us the lux each city has then we could (though it would be a huge guess) find out where they generally are accordign to the type of lux and what places the usually are (not sure because this is a custom map if im not mistaken)

it doesn't tell you what type of lux they have. you can take a general estimate of how manyluxs they have by checking the approval rating, but not the type.

Analyzing the demographics and top five cities is not against the spirit of the rules. Feel free to deduct anything that you can from that information. Your reward for taking the time doing so is the information that you figure out.

F1 upto F12 as well as any demographic or other in-game information you may get (like barb-behaviour, tech price fluctuations etc.) are all freely useable in Demogames and Multi-player games.
After you've met humans it is standard PBEM behaviour to check F4 every turn (even when at war with that human) for changes. Any information you can get from the game -without reloading- is legally obtained information.

I'm not a game-admin but I expect it to be the same in this PBEM.
