default -> run ->attackA ->attackB -> death

Since space mods can be set to use this as an air unit or a sea/ground unit, I made victory animations to cover both

The Dodonna/Blissex RZ-1 or "A-Wing" is a space fighter from the Starwars saga. It is used by the Rebel alliance. It is armed with 2 laser cannons and 2 missle launchers.
It is amongst the fastest of all interceptors in the galaxy. It is also agile, capable of independent jumps. It is often used in solo-missions where its speed and tremendous firepower make it an excellent long range scout and raider.

Very good  - I really like the bombard (air victory) animation. Cool explosions & blasts :)

Thanks Aaglo. I had fun making it. I try to have the bombard match the attack. In this case AttackB is 6 beams and 2 missles, so the bombard is the same.
Getting the sounds to sync up was a bit of a chore... but the hardest part was to limit the animation of the unit to the more realistic but slightly boring movement.
Which is part of why I included the "victory at sea" animation ;)

A Very Good Looking Unit Bjornlo...with those Large engines, this sharp little Ship should "Screem On" with Speed. Good Attacks and I like that Spiffy Victory Roll :goodjob:

wow. how do you manage to sync the sound files. Do you have a special program that aids in that process? Great unit!! Love the Victory!

I wish I did. There might be some who have such a tool (if you do, please tell me what to get). I do mine the old fashioned way. I play the animation and sound at the same time a few 100 times.
I blame Vuldacon for this. :P

Oh BTW Bjornlo, that model we've been watching is about to be released. The guy asked if there was any format we wanted it to be in so i told him .3ds. :D

Did you make that model? Because it's really, REALLY good, even if you didn't excellent work with those animations.

I made bits of it and re-textured it.
For the most part, I prefer to not make models but to make those bits that I need to finish it, and adapt parts from other units. The pilot is from a different model, same with the cockpit, landing gear and so on.
I can do some modeling, but the unit I did the most work on was the Hummer Avenger not this one. In fact for this unit I spent more time in photoshop (textures) and audacity (sound) then in my modeler (LW) or animator (Bryce).

My focus is on the product not the process.

@Everyone, Thanks for the kind words guys. I appreciate them. I'm very glad you enjoyed the unit.

Ah, my favourite fighter in SW! Excellent work, Bjornlo!

Someone tell me as soon as there's a mod that uses this one! :)

Tthe texturing on the model is really superb. The attack blasters and the propulsion blasts are well done, too, but the death explosion is too red red and orby, me thinks. In future units, is it possible to do bright yellow and orange flash explosions light firaxis's? (I'm guessing it probably reqires special software).
Oh, and including sounds in your units is really a nice touch.

I agree that the 2nd explosion is too defined in shape. I like the color though.
I also like the first explosion. After posting it I was looking at the death and only then noticed that the 2nd one was too hard on the edges for my tastes.
The 2nd is more yellow /orange.
Right now the death-explosions consists of 12 fire objects and takes longer to render then the rest of the animatons combined (exluding only the bombing run). I use a series of over lapping different colors, each with shiftinf colors during the animation, and all vary in their relative opacity (see-throughness) as well. So fixing it will take a little while, and I might not bother. Since it is not perfect, but in my opinion, good enough for now.

Yes, its not be worth redoing unless it really bothers you. I'm just used to the game's explosions. I really have no idea how a realistic explosion is animated, maybe alot of it is added in photoshop. Scaling/ distorting objects and applying textures and opacity maps does an okay job though. The bombing run came out good.
