We all know the AI likes to walk into our borders. Somtimes to scout, somtimes to get to some nice land on the other side of our nation and somtimes to attack us. As a nation we must have a policy on how to deal with illegal aliens while keeping our national soverignty intact. So discuss what our policy should be.
My advise is we should ask all units to leave but not demand they leave. And allow naval units to go as they wish. Because we don't need to start wars right at the start, and we need to keep the world happy for profitable trades.
If everyone seems to have the same ideas no need for a poll.

I think this should be more carefully discussed.

:suicide: Of course, I wasn't paying much attention for the whole thing!
You posted two threads about the Foreign Demands Policy and Border Control Policy. I think you should delete the other thread because we naturally don't need it. Let's discuss the whole AI Problems in a single thread.

i don't see the problem with letting scouts walk through our land, so let's leave them alone. settlers on the other hand, i believe should have a zero-tolerance policy. NO AI settlers in Fanatikos territory.

I think that even scouts should be dealed with caution. In the beginning, when Fanatikos borders still have to expand and if we can blockade some fertile land, then this land shall stay in secret until we settle it or the AI will start pumping out settlers to death, only to steal some of our claimed lands. And we may not be able to stop them of passing or bypassing our territories unless declaring a war.
I don't think that this settlers policy idealized by greekguy can always be acomplished by us. The enemy may be stronger than us in the beginning, and we need to expand until the beginning of the middle ages. We must prevent them from exploring some potential and blockaded land, so they won't send any settlers to there.
This theory, of course, applies to a very specific case. If there is no good peninsula or land that can be blockaded by us then we should let the AI scouts pass freely through our land.

We should have our five cities settled before the AI sends settlers our way. Otherwise, we're too slow.

I agree with Civlord on the scout policy, scouts will lead to settlers and the only way to stop them is war, which won't be very good especially early in the game. RM is right, we should settle our 5 cities as quickly as possible.
