I am trying to create my first mod and I am having a real bugger of a time with the resource.pcx file. I have created a new folder for my mod, copied the reosurce.pcx and shadow.pcx files into the /art folder, modified them, then saved again, but for some reason the editor does not bring up the new icons, just the default ones! What am I doing wrong??

I know the answer is undoubtedly in the forum somewhere, but I have tried to find it- even found Casus Belli's post - but I am still confused.

Thanks in advance!

Have you kept the correct names? The ones you quote are not right. They should be resources.pcx and resources_shadows.pcx

Yes they're correct in the folder.

Either the files are bad or they are in the wrong place. Process of elimination:

What happens if you put a known-to-be good pair of modded files in the same place you are trying your files? Do they work? That'll tell you if you are putting them in the right place. If the good files work OK then I guess your files are faulty in some way.

I think my problem was I had not entered the scenario directory in the Properties. Now I think I'm running into a pallette problem, trying to get it right so the game can see the new icons. I'm trying to follow mrtn's (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=1472346#post1472346) advice, but he is (was?) using psp 5.5 and I downloaded the trial for 9.0, so some of the menu references are wrong....

In scenario properties you have to specify a folder for the scenario to look in. All your art, text, ext for the scenario should be in this folder.

What is the format for this? I looked at the RAR scen. properties and it's full of ":../" stuff. I know something about directory structure, but this has me stumped!

EDIT: Alright, I think I'm starting to figure this out. I copied and pasted the scenario source string from RAR, and successfully added Honey! and it's transparent too!! :D Now I'm going to find some more resources and add them to the file!
