The following is a direct copy + paste of regent mans post here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=126313

-----------------------------

Bootstoots has asked for an amendment to the rules.

Current Rule:

5.2.2 - Procedure

An existing rule may be amended or removed after successfully receiving a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of all remaining teams, which shall be defined as those teams still participating in the current games as well as those teams still eligible to compete in the final game.

Proposed Amendment (changes are in bold and italics):

5.2.2 - Procedure

An existing rule may be amended or removed after successfully receiving a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of all remaining teams who choose to cast a vote for or against the amendment. which shall be defined as those teams still participating in the current games as well as those teams still eligible to compete in the final game.

UN reps - Please set up a poll in your team's private forum and report the results in this thread. Your team has 72 hours to discuss the amendment and vote.

These are the voting options:

Option 1 - Yes, my team approves this amendment.

Option 2 - No, my team does not approve of this amendment.

Abstain

---------------------------------

this is because the turn tracker vote passed 2 yes / 2 abstain

closes in 3 days, you know the drill - vote away!

I vote NO ...

My thoughts have changed from a recent similar discussion ...

The reasons of abstaining are :
>The issue is not big so the voter is not interested
>The voter does not understand
>The voter sees both pro and con for the argument

The reason for this ammendment is that abstainion votes are treated as a NO vote in the tally process ...

I think this is valid and should stay ... else we could get a scenario where an ammendment is passed with 1 YES and 3 ABSTAIN votes ...

If there is a problem with too many teams abstaining, then the author should redraft the motion ... by re wording so it becomes clearer and easier to understand or more inspirational and worthy for a stronger vote ...

I vote you have no buisness opening repeat threads, especially when it's not even your department to open them.
