View Full Version : Aztec Diplomacy Interface
Traianus Aug 17, 2005, 03:51 AM Hi all. I've finally finished my Aztec diplo interface and I personally like the result. I've fully in-game tested and everything seems ok so let me know if not. It's a big file so I had to upload in two halves.(You need both zips for the full effect)
Two things I would like opinions on are the jade up and down arrows and the jade dragon in the talk_offer screen.
Cheers!
Edit.(23/08/2005) I've added pop-up menu & border graphix.
Traianus Aug 17, 2005, 03:53 AM Here are the screenies!
Rod Aug 17, 2005, 04:57 AM hello,
it is definitivly amazing !!!
MeteorPunch Aug 17, 2005, 02:52 PM Awesome! I'm definitely using this immediately for the GotM46...it might stay permenently. :D
My one minor gripe about tthe Celtic version was the black art under the negotiation screen. This one is grayed-out so it stays in the background and doesn't get in the way of the game text.
Good job. :goodjob:
Traianus Aug 18, 2005, 02:57 AM Hmm. I had forgotten about that black diamond graphic in the celtic one. I might go back and redo that.
Thanks MeteorPunch and Rod.
aaglo Aug 18, 2005, 03:37 AM Like I've said before (in the preview thread) - these are just amazing
Varwnos Aug 18, 2005, 03:46 AM this is very nice :)
Traianus Aug 18, 2005, 04:21 AM Wow! tnx, you guys. You are two of the best IMO so that means a lot to me.
Traianus Aug 23, 2005, 04:26 AM I've now added pop-up menu & border graphix on the first post. Stick 'em directly into your art folder.(back-up originals first)
Sword_Of_Geddon Aug 23, 2005, 10:40 AM Are you expanding this into a true interface?  That would be awesome, but difficult..
Traianus Aug 23, 2005, 11:15 AM It's something I'd like to do but I'm still relatively new to this type of graphic manipulation and I feel it would take a really long time to complete. However, there's no reason I can't do it one step at a time as I work on the Aztec scenario.
Sword_Of_Geddon Aug 23, 2005, 06:54 PM :) Tell me Tri...how did you do this? :mischief: I must know..
Traianus Aug 24, 2005, 03:30 AM I have a template that I start from. It shows me where the various text areas have to be . Then I decide on a texture for the text panels and just search endlessly for images to use and abuse to fill the surrounding areas.
I have a better version of the template at home but you can find my original one here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=3007534&postcount=5).
Eetu Pellonpää Aug 24, 2005, 03:54 AM Wonderful! I'll add it to the mesoamerican conquest! :goodjob:
Traianus Aug 24, 2005, 04:03 AM Woo-hoo! Thanks.
Sword_Of_Geddon Aug 24, 2005, 10:41 AM Wow! Talk about hard to figure out lol. This is something that could use a tutorial methinks.
Traianus Aug 24, 2005, 11:07 AM I'm sure you'd get it. Everything sounds complex until you've done it a couple of times. It's more tedious than anything else.
Maybe I'll do a tutorial soon. Feels a little wierd though. A month ago I hadn't posted a single piece of work yet. Now people are asking requests. I don't feel like I'm in a position to teach anything when I still have so much learning to do myself!
SilverKnight Aug 25, 2005, 12:50 AM WOW! I've never messed with the Civ interface graphics before, but this is cool enough to do so! :thanx: Great work! Can't wait to play RoCX with this baby as the Aztecs!

prext Aug 29, 2005, 11:49 PM fantastic
eta on the tutorial ?
Nate1976 Aug 30, 2005, 08:50 PM Very cool...
I like the Celtic one better, but his one is alot easier to read on, and it's really neat, down to the skull box borders.
Cool.
Turbotortoise Sep 01, 2005, 06:33 AM I'm kind of new to messing around with C3C, but I have a question: Is it possible to create a different screen for each civ? What I mean is, can I set up the diplomacy screens so if you are the aztecs you use that one, but if you're the romans you would use the roman screen? Is that possible or am I just wishing?
Traianus Sep 05, 2005, 09:06 AM Sorry I took so long to answer. I was away for a week.
Firstly, for the standard game you can only have one at any time. That's it! You could do it for a scenario but it wouldn't be worth the amount of effort it would take. You'd need to duplicate your biq and scenario folders for each different civ you want a diplo screen for.
