View Full Version : Cityplan Turn 3300 BC-2500 BC (TERM ONE)
Provolution Aug 18, 2005, 06:10 AM Honorable Citizens
I have presented the following cityplan, revised, as we got a new settler from a village. The orange lines points out that the cities share the wheat, which is the only wise thing to do to maximize a plus 5 food per turn tile. The cities are placed in order to mitigate the river crossing cost on movement, so we may get reinforcements to a city within one turn on the average. The cities are also placed so that they can expand outwards, making Dancing Banana our wonder city.
deo Aug 18, 2005, 11:05 AM It's all ok for me!
donsig Aug 18, 2005, 05:22 PM I like it. Should we begin discussing what is to be produced in these cities?
Also, what will our workers be doing? Will both be chopping wood or will one be chopping and the other building roads?
What about Xerxes and Cyrus? I'm assuming they will have to do some guard duty till the barbarians are neutralized. Any estimates as to when exploration will resume?
Provolution Aug 18, 2005, 06:42 PM Good questions Donsig, made me start thinking.
Our workers. Josephine Baker (The very first Dancing Banana Worker) and Banana Joe (Bud Spencer Character) will respectively road up the Irôn roadgrid and complete chopping that other forest by Dancing Banana. This will assure us the Semtex City settler, and the northern roads. I am certain we should make two other workers right away in one of the new cities in order to meet our ambitious public works projects.
2. Xerxes and Cyrus
These will conduct anti partisan activity in the proximity of future Dynopolis/Carpetbomb axis until all pockets of enemy resistance are isolated, neutralized, desecrated and used as fertilizer for additional food for our expansive empire. Exlporation will possibly resume in 2-3 turns, around turn 20.
greekguy Aug 18, 2005, 06:46 PM This looks good, but i hope we start a looser build in the far future.
Provolution Aug 18, 2005, 06:51 PM City builds
Dancing Banana
This will be our wonder city, but will continue the planned schedule to complete settler with a logrush in two turns, and complete another one some 5 turns later than that in order to comply with the 30 turn plan. Then we will make a warrior, and will utilize future Semtex to add the other needed warrior tu guard Dancing Banana.
As soon as the 30 turn cycle is complete, we will initiate Pyramid build in Dancing Banana, but shift this to Ancient Cavalry in the last minute.
Dynopolis
Dynopolis was the major positive surprise in Term One. We will utilize this as the southern frontier city. First of all sending out 2 warriors we can explore Southeast and Southwest with and then serve as the colonial arm of the Ironic Empire, with settlers and workers. The southern region military city is yet to be build, as Dynopolis is the center for a major agricultural district.
Carpetbomb
Carpetbomb bridges the modern term for excessive bombing, our TNT name and the most famous product of Irôn, Persian carpets. This is not only a blanket statement :D
Carpetbomb will be a worker production and a source of settlers. As we are such a tough nation, we may spend citizen to rush some military units from time to time.
Carpetbomb will be the Expansion center for the Eastern Frontier.
Semtex
Semtex will be the final city of Term One, and serve as our Western Expansion center.
This means again, settlers and workers, and some garrisons.
We are not going to have any specialized military cities until we have done more exploration and decided on what military force composition we shall go for.
Strider Aug 18, 2005, 08:32 PM Looks fine to me.
CoolioVonHoolio Aug 18, 2005, 10:33 PM looks good, but now that we have more cities are we going to hold elections for their governers?
Provolution Aug 18, 2005, 11:22 PM That is correct too, CooliovonHoolio
Avialable Satrapsies are:
Satrap of Semtex
Satrap of Carpetbomb
Satrap of Dynopolis
Gunner Aug 18, 2005, 11:37 PM Sounds good.
rcoutme Aug 19, 2005, 10:15 AM For the purposes of sharing resources and having the cities on the same side of the river (since engineering is way, way off); I recommend the following changes:
1. Plan Semtex one square NW of current position.
2. Plan Carpetbomb one square SW of current postion.
3. Dynopolis is good where it is. One note: Dynopolis will not get use of the wheat/fp until Carpetbomb is built.

I think I will follow that advise, in order to maximie the epeed in which we send Ancient Cavalry and so on to the Southern Frontier. With all cities on one side of the river, we are assured that we get the speed we need, and that we do not waste our workforce.
Maybe we can call that military road south for Via Zeus.
