The Expatriate Governor is responsible for the care, management, and use of captured cities and may also setup a civic government in any manner they see fit that does not conflict with Fanatikos laws.

The Expatriate Governor is a member of the Senate which is responsible for choosing a President should an election cycle complete with no citizen elected as President, and for placing Fanatikos in a state of Mobilization. The Senate also has the power to declare War.

Please note: No cities have yet been captured

The most important part of the Expatriate Governor's duties is leading the selection of which foreign cities to keep. The selection needs to take into account resources, wonders, strategic location, and ability to resist flipping back to the enemy. Once we have acquired the foreigners' crown jewels, we must carefully manage these cities to foster their inclusion as full members of our society. We must also defend these potentially far-flung outposts from recapture, and maintain their trade connection to our homeland.

It is, of course, far too early to predict which cities we may keep and which may be utterly destroyed. One somewhat distasteful but necessary element we may have to consider is destruction of an already captured city in favor of keeping a different one which better meets our needs. With luck and careful decision making we won't be faced with such a decision.

There is one legal battle I intend to pursue if elected. The law specifies we may keep one city for each rival civilization, but I do not believe it restricts us to keeping exactly one conquored city from each rival. I will seek to clarify the law to allow us to keep a total of 7 foreign cities from any combination of rivals. While I remain committed to the ideal solution of taking one from each, there may be circumstances where it is more appropriate to retain two cities from one opponent instead of a potentially useless city from another opponent.

In summary my platform is simple. Careful consideration of all elements in choosing cities to keep, careful management of those cities to bring them into our society, and an open mind with regard to unusual situations, should any develop.

not voting until i get an answer to this question (carried over from nom. thread):

what type of cities should we try to capture?:

enemy capitals loaded up with wonders. however, they will be very far away and very corrupt.

enemy colony cities built close to our borders. they won't have lots of wonders and such, but they have a good chance of being productive.

I believe that the city choice depends on the rival. For example, the French are right by us, so any of their cities are up for grabs. We can decide to grab a city with a lot of fertile land around it, so we can have another productive city, increasing our production power by about 17%. However, Babylon could be on the other side of the world. In a situation like this, our lack of resources and "vital" wonders will be the sole decision.

As the Expatriate Governor, I will keep Fanatikos up to date with the latest information about our rival's cities. That way, we can make up our minds regarding what city to keep and what cities to destroy. This will greatly increase our military's effectiveness, as we know where they can rest, where to attack from, etc.

I know that I haven't posted a long platform, but that's because I don't need as many words. I will keep you informed of our rivals and lead discussions regarding what cities to keep and destroy. I will do the job to the best of my abilities. Vote RegentMan for your Expatriate Governor.

Thank you DaveShack for such an exciting race. I know that you would have made a fine Expatriate Governor, and as such, humbly offer you the deputy position. Continue to ask your judiciary questions, as that makes everything clearer.

I wish to thank my supporters for their... support and hope that I can win over the twelve others. Term II will surely be an exciting one!
