This idea struck me moments ago. We now have units of different eras representing different national climates, shouldn't these leaders also lead different troops? Ideas

Russians
Peter the Great: Cossack
Iosef Stalin: T-34

Great idea/fantasy. I see what you're getting at. Eg China for instance. Playing as Qin Shi Huang would get you Cho-Ku-Nu but playing as Mao you would have command over the PLA.

These would probably work to adapt the game style better to the leader. For example, the suggested Stalin and Mao become very powerful late game military leaders, while Qing Shi Quan would be a powerful force earlier on, but would later peter out a bit. This could add a ton of Strategy by matching with their attributes. :D

I'm sure Firaxis will be thrilled to hear that they must create the artwork for not one, but TWO unique units for each civ. ;)

It would be a good idea, but we probably won't see it for the same reason there aren't more civs - limitations on time and money from the developers.

Good idea, but it'll never happen...

It wouldn't be for each civ, but for each leader. That's not 36, that's more like 24, if I recall the number of civs with two leaders.

Great idea, but i dont see it happening. Perhaps in an x-pack though it will, if people lobby hard enough for it ;)

...Or we could just have unit-makers here at civfanatics work on filling the gaps. I'm sure someone would be up for it.

It'll not happen because then we would essentially have two civs. If you adopt the uu's to the leaders, then you can as well adopt the city lists (Russia is a good example for different lists). but I get the idea that they still want 18 civs, and not 26.

Why not have the two UUs at the same time? I mean for each civ.

Because it becomes awkward for some civs. Take Conquests for example; they weren't even able to come-up with one decent unique unit for the Sumerians.
