You may find this list of trade options for 1050 BC useful:

We have got several techs from the Great Library, most of which are known by everyone else except for Germany who does not know Map Making or Mathematics and France who does not know Polytheism. France has nothing to give us, but Germany has 65 gold. So even if we do not wish to trade one of our monopoly techs, perhaps we could extract the gold from Germany for either Maths or Map Making.
edit: Now we have Code of Laws, we also now need to consider moving on to research Republic which was not included in your last poll on what to research next.
Donovan Zoi Sep 11, 2005, 10:57 AM Thanks for posting here, Furiey.
I agree that we should sell eithe Map Making or Math to Germany. I would probably go with Math because that would give yet another country the opportunity to research Construction or Currency for us.
Also, please confirm that Republic will be our next tech. Thanks!
Furiey Sep 11, 2005, 01:08 PM Minister truckingpete,
You may also wish to consider what to do when we get more free techs from the Great Library. If another Civ has free gold, but is missing one of the techs we get free it would probably be worth considering selling them that tech for gold immediately. If we wait until the next turnchat it is likely that another Civ will have sold them the tech and got the gold.

ravensfire Sep 24, 2005, 10:23 AM To all elected officials:
Due to an eagerness to get a chat during a reasonable time for our overseas players, a severe brain cramp and a possible lack of caffeine, I am resheduling the upcoming game session.
It is now scheduled for Monday, September 26th at 7pm, Central time.
My apologies for any trouble!

ravensfire Sep 25, 2005, 09:33 PM Minister Truckingpete,
In your recent instructions for the upcoming game session, you posted some instructions about a peace treaty. First, please be aware that this is the duty of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Second, something of this magnitude should probably be discussed and polled on the forums, not left to the DP and the small percentage that attends the chats.
Thanks!
