View Full Version : Suggest an expansionciv
Loppan Torkel Sep 11, 2005, 12:01 PM Expansion/s to civ4 will most likely be released in the nearest couple of years and I'd say it's a pretty good guess they will add civs and leaders in at least one of these expansions....
And since there are a number of opinions about if the right civs were included and wishes to include civs that didn't make it in this release....
What civ and what leaders would you like Firaxis to add to the first expansion to civ4?
I'd like to see Scandinavia added, with two leaders - Ragnar Lodbrok - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ragnar_Lodbrok - and Gustavus Adolphus - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustavus_Adolphus_of_Sweden .
mitsho Sep 11, 2005, 03:32 PM Scandinavia - viking sea raiders just rock
Turks (Ottoman Empire) - We'll lay siege onto Vienna once more
Austria - to be able to do this ... ;)
Khmer and Korea - Asian Power Tigers
Maya - to have the 'Magic Native American three'
Iroquois - because they are so cute... :)
Poland - they deserve it after three itinerations without them
Assyria - as Poland, they really deserve it
Babylon - they're just a civ classic
Phoenicia - with Hiram and Hannibal as its leaders?

SuperBeaverInc. Sep 11, 2005, 03:53 PM How am I not suprised Xen? :p
My list:
Celts
Vikings
Khmer
Abyssinia
Carthage
Mayans
Babylon
Crayton Sep 11, 2005, 04:47 PM Something East African. Ethiopia/Swahili perhaps.
Celts, definatively.
Phoenicia, change up from Carthage.
Babylon or something Mesopotamian (Assyria for a change-up)
That's only 4 but any of my others would just be a redraw of the current civs. :)
Loppan Torkel Sep 17, 2005, 12:54 PM I wonder what flag they will give Scandinavia..? Swedish? Danish? Or a made up Viking flag?
And I'd like to see Israel as a civ too, with David and perhaps Moses or Solomon as leaders?! or would a modern day leader be better?
The Turks should be in too but other than that I'm pretty happy with whatever the put in.
SuperBeaverInc. Sep 17, 2005, 02:02 PM Well they haven't actually used the national flags of any nations so far, so they would probably find a historical banner or something like that. Maybe even just a flag with the Viking helmet on it.
Gr3yL3gion Sep 17, 2005, 02:12 PM Siam- A civilization that never been conquered.
Khmer
Polynesian

Manchurian

troytheface Sep 17, 2005, 04:49 PM all barbarian civs in one pack- and u don't have to build cities u just get to conquer 'em
Loppan Torkel Sep 17, 2005, 05:17 PM all barbarian civs in one pack- and u don't have to build cities u just get to conquer 'emIt would be pretty different since there has always been an aim for balance and similar conditions in civ, but on the other hand it might be a fun way to introduce newcomers to ongoing MPgames - you get a bunch of berserkers on longships and some info of the surrounding area - then it's up to the player to do what seems best in the situation. It would be a bit unjust to the player that has to face the new civ though and I'm not sure if it would work out that well in the end.
It would be easier in SP, but couldn't this be done as a scenario in civ3 already? I wonder if civ4 can support randomgenerated scenarios? As in - you start 1200 AD in a random generated world built up by AIcivs with a Mongol Horde somewhere in this world.
troytheface Sep 17, 2005, 05:45 PM actually ripped the idea off from someone in another post- yes it was in a Conquests scenario but i tried that scenario and it was not a very fun one to play-
u had to slog through to rome and u built cities- i like ur idea better- u get the vikings or the mongols - some fast moving barbarian civ and just go around taking bribes and attacking whomever
