I'd like a new tech icon for the Republic in Civ III. I am not a fan of the default icon. I would like something that represents the Roman Republic (circlet of olive leaves might be a good start). Any attempts would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the ones used for the conquests ? I think there is one. Or maybe it was in the RaR mod. Dig into the gfx thread and you might find something.

What´s the RaR mod?

I've only found 1 alternative and I liked the default better than it.

Thank you Traianus, it is a nice start. A dark-red background and maybe something else on it and it'd be perfect. I am 100% incompetent when it comes to graphics programs but I'll give it a shot.

IIRC the Rise of Rome Conquest uses a circle of gold olive leaves for its Republic icon.

edit: I assumed you just wanted this for your own use. I don't know who to give credit to if you release it in a mod.

I will most likely have a disclaimer in which I recognize everyone's work that I have used and then have a clause covering anyone that I missed. I can then alter the credit lists later if I do miss anyone and I will have recognized the work of all. That's the best solution I can find. There are a couple of units who's maker I am unsure of so this would cover that too (I downloaded 500mb of units at once so I may have missed a maker who made maybe 1 of the units I got. Most my units come from 6 makers)

You could ask in the RoC thread. Rhye might have a who-did-what list.
