View Full Version : Where are all the sensible topics???

It seems to me that 95% of the topics and posts in this forum are either for
(i) Cosmetic changes that will be easily changable in the editor (like different Civs, units etc)
(i) Gameplay ideas which if any sane person sat down to think about it would make for horrible and tedious gameplay (the user drawing province borders onto the map??!??!!?)

Why??? Most people here have a certain level of inteligence, don't they? Can we not make things easier for the Firaxis bods looking for some expansion ideas by not spamming this forum up with this junk?

Anyhow, rant over. Thankyou for your time. :D

To be honest: that is exactly the reason why this is my first return to this forums in probably a month. The recent way of starting new topics killed the spirit around here pretty much. Not to mention the trouble people refuse to take to look if their suggestion have been made before. I mean: how many railroad topics covering the same have been created?

Sorry if anything I said seemed like that. I didn't mean to crap up your forum. Not sure if anyone was talking about my thread, just wanted to apologize if you felt that I had spammed it (not that I think I did, but your province borders comment sounded like a thread I made, although I didn't suggest that the player draw them per-se.)

I wasn't specifically talking about you, Goombaz. I just used the last example that I could think of.

Well, if you don't like the topics that are posted, start a thread of useful topics.

FYI, as someone who has watched this thread for months, I have found it to be very cyclical. Sometimes, it focuses on the big important issues, sometimes on the small minors ones. Needless, stick around and eventually your type of issue will be discussed.

However, don't complain when you can do something about. So, dont post useless posts- post important ones, just like you are requesting!

Well, the game is almost finished, so if people post new ideas it can be useful only in mods or in a future expansion pack.

Wait until the game is released, let people play one or two months and then several new ideas will appear. Some may be added in an expansion pack, some can be modded and some won't be useful :D.

lol - of late your right- alot of complaint posts- maybe that is normal on the eve before the release of a new game. Although it really does not make sense now that u mention it.

I think the topics you refer too are making more sense than your whining about it...

I agree that it can be pretty dull reading some threads - but you kind of hope that even those ones will get more interesting due to some contributions part of the way through.

When the 'big issues' have been picked over it only really leaves the small ones to ask about unless someone has a great new idea.

But the thing is that some people are new to the site, new to civ-games and need to ask things. However as on all forums - you ought to do a search before going over old ground.

Well everyone will agree with you gangor, there are silly topics, but not hardly anyone will agree on what topic is silly and which is not, that comes down to personal taste.

However in my opinion there has been a lot of negative topics recently about new features in civ4, features no ones played or has an exact knowledge of how they will work. But this can be put down to fairly standard human behaviour, which is to resist any change for any reason, no matter how illogical.
