I think the round map in Civ 4 should be made so on a map editor or when starting a new game you can check a box that makes the world Civ 3 style flat grid.

I hope nobody has already posted this...

Civ4 does not have a truly round world; it is merely a trick that makes it look like a globe when zoomed out. The world is shaped like it was in Civ3.
