This just occured and I have no idea why.
I've had no problems with the C3C editor in the past and now this annoying error message keeps popping up.

It shows up when I first load up the editor.
It pops-up again everytime I start a new file (clicking File>New)
It pops-up again everytime I edit the rules (clicking Rules>Edit Rules...) and everything is blank. There's no Civilization list, no Wonders, no Techs, no Citizens, etc. Nothing at all.

I swear this has not happened before.

I can still open up my previous .biq files without any problems but when I go to edit the rules, that darn error message pops-up again. It was NOT there before, EVER.
There's no problem saving and doing everything else. This error message is more of an annoyance :(

I have Civilization 3 Complete and I have tried the other editors (Civ3Edit & Civ3XEdit) just to make sure and they seem to be okay. It's just my Civ3ConquestsEdit that's giving me this error message.

There's nothing wrong with the game and I can still play it normally so I don't really want to re-install everything again just to see if it fixes this problem.

Appreciate any help you can give me!

Moved to Civ3 Tech Support, being a Civ-specific query.

ITs happened to me so many times, for some reason, after you hibernate, it should be gone, if not message again.

Could be a general data corruption or a lack of RAM...

@Knight-Dragon
Whoops! :o :blush:

@AnsarKing101
It happened to you as well? Hmm ... I'll try that out. Thanks!
Very annoying error!!! Will let you know if it fixes things.

@Ultima Dragoon
Data corruption is a possibility. In that case, I'll have to re-install everything again if that's the case. I still get that error even when I'm working with previous .biq files.

As for lack of RAM, I don't think that's the case. Otherwise, the other editors should be experiencing the same problems, which they are not.

Thanks guys! I'll come back if nothing has changed!

I have gotten it before, usually when I have the editor open for long periods of time and am switching between programs.

I can't get rid of that error message.

@AnsarKing101
I tried what you said. Doesn't work for me.
It's not a random error either. I get it "everytime". It won't disappear :(

@Ginger_Ale
Oh? I usually don't leave the editor on for a long time. I don't know what's going on with this error message.

At least for all of you who have experienced this error, your problems seem to go away after a while.
Mine doesn't :(

Thanks for the help anyway. I'll just have to tolerate it's existence for the time being until I either a) find or given a solution or b) re-install the game

edit:
Okay, I tried opening the editor by 'double-clicking' a .biq file (tried this many times with different files, including the Conquest scenarios .biq files)

I get a lot of error messages similar to the one shown below.

ERROR: Could not open file: Art\Terrain\<___.pcx>. Check to make sure the editor is run from the folder where Civilization III was installed.
... where ___ is the filename

WTH? I never moved the editor and I always run it where I have installed Civilization III
Stupid thing -- I checked all the files in question and everything is there. Nothing is missing.
I'm stumped.
The only thing I can think of is that the editor might be reading some other directory and not the Civ3 installation directory.
But where do I find that setting? I haven't touched a thing.

If I can play the game without any errors, why is this happening in the editor?
The game seems to read the appropriate folders for mods and scenarios but the editor is "confused?" :lol:

Here's a list of filenames that pop-up with the error message.
Not all are shown for each .biq file that I open.
It seems to be different .pcx files for different .biq files

Art\Terrain\lwCSO.pcx
Art\Terrain\lwSSS.pcx
Art\Terrain\lwOOO.pcx
Art\Terrain\LMhills.pcx
Art\Terrain\LMMountains.pcx
Art\Terrain\Volcanos.pcx
Art\Terrain\volcanos forests.pcx
Art\Terrain\volcanos jungles.pcx
Art\Terrain\Volcanos-snow.pcx
Art\Terrain\LMForests.pcx
Art\Terrain\marsh.pcx
Art\Terrain\landmark_terrain.pcx
Art\Terrain\craters.pcx
Art\Terrain\EditFog.pcx

Grrrrrrr!!!
