awefully late to bring this up, but it just occurred to me today. it seems support costs for modern armored units for example should be higher than for spearmen. Even in relative terms cost of weapons has increased exponentially in the modern age it seems & without an increase in unit support cost the large modern economies can possibly support an unrealistically large military.
thoughts ?

What's so unrealistic about the size of CivIII's armies?

Bad idea because it would make wars less intense

Well actually, in the end days of the game, there is a much higher productive power, so it all balances out. So, this would mean fewer units, which makes the fights involving those fights with those units more intense because it narrows the number of units involved.
