I have three words to present, if the forum would graciously incline to embrace them as I...
EXTENDED
FANTASY
SCIFI
Yes, I still Play Civ2 Test of Time, probably even more than I play Civ3 even! I really hope they make something liek the Fantasy and Science Fiction stories for the game, as well as future technologies for Earth-setting games.
I am currently addicted to the fantasy setting. It's just such a cool experimence it is difficult to put it all in words. I am still as fascinated with it as I was when I got the game in around 2000. It's just so... different. It's hard to explain. It's truly an awesoem experience. I'll shut up about it after saying one last thing... if you don't have Test of Time... get it NOW!
The science fiction game had me equally enticed. I played a game for five hours straight this saturday from the minute I woke up! Having a futuristic settin gin which you have to rebuild civilization from the basics is truly an intreguing experience. Especially when those Urdar things start appearing all over the place, taking whole size 30+ cities in just a few turns, you know the heat is on and you gotta finish building that spaceship (or Earthgate) or all hope is lost!
Anyone can clearly tell that the developers really poured their hearts and souls into making Civ 2 Test of Time! The game never wears out; it's just as awe-inspiring as it was when I got it five years ago. That's what makes a game great!
I sure hope that they make (even if in the form of expansions) futuristic, scifi, and fantasy settings for Civ4, and even M(?)RE! It may be a lot to expect, but I'm sure if there's a big enough demand for it (and I doubt that there wouldn't be), they could do it.
