I've made a canal. I use it in my mods, and I thought that it would be useful.

The oldest-known canals were built in Mesopotamia and in China. In Europe and then in the young United States, canals preceded the development of railroads during the earliest phase of the Industrial Revolution.
A lot of them were built in France and Netherlands and they played an important role in the Industrial Revolution in England (In fact, I use it in my mod about the napoleonic wars).

Competition from the railroad network made canals obsolete for commercial transportation, and many fell into decay.

I hope that you like it. :)

These look nice :goodjob: I presume they replace the railroad graphics?

:hmm: This is getting me thinking of using railroads in my mod now. Err, I mean canals.

Nice work :hatsoff:

That's exactly what I needed ! I planned to do them myself somewhere in the future :)
Thanks.

I think that Nafta would argue for the return of the use of railroads instead of canals ;)
