How about a nice laser or something that can shoot from space at any unit on the ground on earth... then the spaceship would slowly recharge...

The spaceship could then be increased with solar panels just like civ1 so it gets more power and the laser can reload faster etc... so it can fire again...

Could make for some nice special effects too =D

I really would like such an option...

Building a spaceship just to send to another planet which you won't even see is kinda lame etc... I have never really played a spaceship race in multiplayer... what s the point really ? it isn't fun at all.

Lasers from space now that would be fun ! =D

Maybe this idea could even be expanded with counter measures... like other spaceships to destroy spaceships etc ;) Not too much though... it shouldn't turn into master of orion lol :) However I wouldn't mind if if it did ;)

But please.... bring/give us a more usefull space ship !!!!!

Ok here is another idea for you:

Some technologies could only become available after the spaceship has been build... Since some technologies were invented in space.

This would force people to build a large spaceship and then later they can reap the benefits from it in a big way by super cool new space tech =D

Like nikies ;) wieeeeeee... no seriously... more advanced computers, more advanced armor... I am sure you guys or other guys can find/think up something that came from space ?!

The whole debate about this was mostly about realism, however I have nothing against something like this, only it should not be stuff "from space" just a bit more future like things.

The spaceship in Civ 2 Test of Time - Extended Earth had a purpose... it opened up a new world to conquer! I would really like to see somethign like that in Civ 4!
