The Governor of Priapos is responsible for the care, management, and use of the city and may also set up a civic government in any manner they see fit that does not conflict with Fanatikos laws.

The Governor is a member of the Senate which is responsible for choosing a President should an election cycle complete with no citizen elected as President, and for placing Fanatikos in a state of Mobilization. The Senate also has the power to declare War.

Please submit nominations for the Governor of Priapos in this thread and Accept or Decline any nominations you may receive. Self nominations are allowed. Citizens may only run for one elected position.

Nominations will close and elections open 00:00 GMT on the 27 September (that’s 8pm EDT 26 September).

Please Note: I shall start closing the nomination threads and posting the polls approx 1½ hours early at 22:30 GMT (6:30 PM EDT), 26 September.

Thank you dear people, but I must Decline. Projects are popping up.
I just wanted to dispel some myths that you need to be a GOTM household name or something at CFC in order to deliver some quality planning.

Question to the candidates: What wonder(s), if any, would you like to be built in Priapos?

Question to the candidates: What wonder(s), if any, would you like to be built in Priapos?

In the speech that I plan to give tonight directly after the creation of the Voting Poll Threads, I will give a better description of my plan for Priapos. As it is, I have no wish to create or start any wonders during this next term. The only wonder that might fit with the plan to make Priapos an economically dominant city might be DaVinci's, in an attempt to lessen the economic drain on our military.

While I believe that this wonder would be a burden, I also realize that my job is to represent the people. As such, if elected my first order of business would be to start a discussion about the idea of any such wonders, so I may use the thoughts of the citizens in my planning. Already, one thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=128850) by Governor Provolution stating the idea for DaVinci's showed minimal response. I still plan to start the discussion again so that if by overwhelming numbers the call for a wonder is requested, I may plan accordingly.

However, I will state that I would rather use those shields for other improvements, such as a library that will soon be needed, and perhaps a cathedral to continue to boost our happy population, thereby being the most effective. In future terms, we will certainly come across many wonders that will capitalize on the economic output of Priapos. As Priapos was the last city to be built, I believe we have the duty to wait out building a wonder in order to determine the needs of the nation later on, rather than rush one through now in a misguided attempt to show our proficiency.

As former governor of Priapos, I strongly urge to wait with building library, till we change research policy to max out the research. Until then, prioritize other buildings please.
I would recommend to put out a worker and complete the land around the city.
Then Priapos can build 1-3 catapults, since these are units that can be good without barracks, and upgradeable to Trebuchets. We should wait with major naval programs till we figure out how the other continent looks like. Then Priapos is a natual naval HQ for building ships.

However, after the market and harbor, which should be priority now, you got ample space to start on a wonder right away. Frankly put, Da Vinci will save a lot of gold in C3C. Horseman to Knights alone is worth some 75 gold each time. Da Vinci will save us well into the modern age, relieving our economy (commerce included), preserving our miltiary forces (shields included) - and indirectly our population from drafts (food included). Daft players do not see Da Vinci, but obviously this is a long term benefit wonder.

Make sure the city becomes 7 population for the added walls, ask for a Veteran Hoplite more to defend the city from another city.

Governor Provolution. In my speech upcoming, I will unveil my plan, part of which will be to only build the library in anticipation of a change back to researching our own technologies.

Also, construction of one worker this term to focus solely on improvements for Priapos is part of my plan.

As for DaVinci, this is still a matter to be considered. I would like to hear from others before supporting the idea. I have stated that my current stance is not to build it, but do not think that this means I will fight the idea. I will hope that, if I am elected, you will be part of the discussion I will start about this topic.

I actually disagree with prioritizing library at the moment.

I think you need to sit down with the new president elect, and see what time is likely to change research rate. Until then, the library has absolutely no value, and is a poor choice in a limited buildqueue. Except for that I fully support you :)
