Turn 39 "The Mysterious Village" 2240 BC

Xerxes could not believe his own eyes, he thought he had seen it all, beautiful Iroqi squaws escaping the clutches of their own evil, literate Iroqi sadist husbands, who in affection torched and massacred the innocent civilians in Cruller in retribution, and now this? Xerxes could see from his forest that the Iroqis was trying to surround him, Iroqis plundering Crullers smoldering ruins in the east. and another evil warband from the Homer Despotican Guard coming in from southeast.

Xerxes ordered.. "Please follow the forest due south, so we may see the ocean before we die, and stay a bit safer from their stone slings".

After three days march he was greatly surprised as he could see a full thriving town of non Iroqis, just southeast of the Cruller Ruins. Obviously, the Iroqis thought that they could coexist for a while, and then use their literary talent to fill the poor villagers minds through the pinning of sounds into the ground in weird and arcane symbols.

Xerxes said. "Now the Iroqis got two choices, they can massacre this village to, or they can come after us. One thing is certain, if they do not go there, we go there. Xerxes hoped that he could persuade another tribe to join him and found a southern city, at least a band of nomad warriors, possibly these villagers had some shamans that knew something? What if he could incite a major rebellion? Options were many.



About the game

90 % tax
10 % research
16 GPT, we are starting upgrades as soon barracks is complete.

Shelbyville went down to 3 pop, so they built a settler right now.
Grenadapolis founded in two turns for iron connection.


They face a major dilemma with the village, they may pop it for a 2/3 chance of barbarian warriors, which is a major risk right now. We can decide to squat that hill next turn, or to take the village ourselves. Indeed a precarious dilemma to the Iroqis, this close to home during a see-saw battle.

For not having made a single real military attack, Xerxes has been very effective.

It is indeed about 2/3 chance barbs will spring from the hut; but those barbs are near the Doughnut core. Would that really be bad for TNT ?

That was actually the intention, thank you Rik :) The idea is to either pressure them to do it, or to go in ourselves. However, I guess we are practically dead if we enter that village, if the barbarians does not take us, the Iroqis will. However, this is a great way to die and end our journey, for a 10 shield warrior, we got great use of him this time around.

Popping th ehut would be the best idea.

Pop the hut no doubt. If we can get a tech or something good, it's definately worth it. And Xerxes hasn't got much time left to live in anyway, so popping barbs could potentially hurt iroq more than us.

Yes, pop the hut. Lookslike it's in a forest. Wouldn't that help Xerxes chances of surviving?

Plan B (if the Iroqi) pop the hut is to occupy that high ground just to the south.

I think the Iroqis ar required to post their findings in a battle report, if they get a new unit or a new settler, as required by the game rules.

So if they enter the village, we will know if they got a technology or not, from where we stand. If they enter the village, and do not report what happened, I will hold the save till the report is on the table, following the rules.

They could also get maps or gold without having to report it. So we cannot be sure whether they get a tech or not, if we receive no reports about it.

That is true. All I want to know, is if they manage to sneak out a settler. Or if they send more troops after us.

What do you mean their required to post their findings? That doesn't sound right.

if they find a settler or warrior, we can see it, so they need to tell us that in a sort of battle report. The same applies for Great Leaders and so on.

If they attack you; you can demand a battle-report if it isn't send to you. If they don't attack you (but for instance pop the hut) there is no battle, thus no battle report.
And it is only needed for battles between your unit and an other teams' unit(s).

Example of a battle report:
3 D'nut catapults bomb 3/3 TNT warrior near New York. 1 hit, 2 misses. 4/4 horse kills 2/3 TNT warrior, horse becomes 3/4.

If the location is obvious, this is enough:
3/3 D'nut warrior Vs 3/3 TNT warrior -> D'nut warrior dead, TNT warrior 1/3 promotes to 2/4.
5/5 D'nut archer Vs 2/4 TNT warrior -> TNT warrior dead, archer 3/5. MGL appeared.

I propose a change of name for our honorable warrior Xerxes. He has proven himself on the field of combat, single-handly capturing an enemy town and a force of workers.

I propose we name him "Xerxes the doughnut eater."

He found the settlers building Dynopolis, he captured the Beautiful Squaw "Spirit of the Game", he witnessed the evil Iroqis massacre of Cruller with his innocent eyes, and now he is the savior of the oppressed village in that forest.

If Xerxes becomes Veteran after this, we will bring him home for an extreme makeover (Immortal upgrade).
