I gave him some general ideas, he worked some stuff out. I like the way it has come out, but I want to see what others have to say. We will use this for our front page annoucement if we ever get around to it. :) Comment away, Mistfit wants to make this the best he can!
Provolution Sep 27, 2005, 04:27 PM Great symmetry Mistfit :) But of course, as the in-house artist of KISS he placed them on the top hehe :) But for symmetry and so on, I agree :)
However, I think Doughnut could be on the top and KISS at the bottom, since that reflects the turn order.
Mistfit Sep 27, 2005, 04:57 PM glad you like it.
It does however need some cleaning. It has stray pixles and the such...
I just wanted to get some approval from the teams first. I wondered who would be the first to snipe about team KISS being on top. I think I can still change that.... :p
I'm also planning on a 2nd page to this image with the tag line "Join the Battle" superimposed over pic's of everones UU.
I'd like input for the tag line... If you've got any suggestions please feel free to make them.
Keep in mind I am doing this for the benefit of the game. I hope to get others involved because I enjoy it (not for any altererior reasonings) Also keep in mind that I am fairly limited in my graphics programs. I currently use the cheapest (read freeware) programs available.
Whomp Sep 27, 2005, 04:57 PM Looks awesome Mistfit (as usual!). If Team K.I.S.S is put on the bottom we are perfectly fine with that.
Daghdha Sep 27, 2005, 05:09 PM If I were Greek I would oppose to that ghastly green, but since I'm not....looks fine, very nice. Celts @ the bottom is perfect, the foundation and the bottom line, he, he
ybbor Sep 27, 2005, 05:15 PM If I were Greek I would oppose to that ghastly green, but since I'm not....looks fine, very nice.
what a coincidence, I am greek, and i think it resembles puke :)
:vomit:
Provolution Sep 27, 2005, 05:15 PM Yeah, it is more powerful and cool with a V shape than a pyramid, like more potent. For TNT, we would ideally like something like explosive, galvanized steel or something. I guess in unicolor, red could be nice.
Mistfit Sep 27, 2005, 05:18 PM Yeah, it is more powerful and cool with a V shape than a pyramid, like more potent.
 I don't understand this... Is this a suggestion?

Can you post somthing that has an acceptable color? I was just telling Dagh that I'm partially color blind but with an example I can do pretty well.

Switching Doughnut and KISS would make it more V than pyramid yes.

our actual color
IroquoisPlisken Sep 27, 2005, 05:32 PM Looks great! I agree with all the suggestions in this thread.
Another layout you could try is having the MTDG circle in the center, with one team at each "corner" (NE, NW, SE, SW). Also rotate the outer circle with the 4 colors to align with the team names. Was that too confusing?
Provolution Sep 27, 2005, 05:36 PM I would object to maplocate the teams in the logo. By turn we know, but not by map.
EDIT
Well then, ok, now I see... clockwise Doughnut, TNT, MIA and KISS could emulate the turnpace in a clockwise setup, with names in the corners.

Brilliant, but if we did it based on maplocation we could have MisT constantly redo it as the world is discovered and we, perhaps, relocate ourselves (or become relocated by others :D). :joke:
Provolution Sep 27, 2005, 06:02 PM HAhahahahaha :D Good humor :) I am just being a bit jumpy on these creative intelligence activities one constantly observes hehe :)
RegentMan Sep 27, 2005, 06:44 PM I like it. :) Editing it to reflect turn order, if possible, would be good.
Own Sep 27, 2005, 07:51 PM Don't change it, it's perfect. Great job Mistfit.
fe3333au Sep 28, 2005, 04:34 AM Excellent work Misfit ...
I would have turn order and alter the Greek colour to what ybbor suggested ...
Again a Fantastic Image  ... especially for one slightly blinded by colour ;)
Mistfit Sep 28, 2005, 12:47 PM http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads10/mtdg6.JPG
Cleaned and moved around a bit.
Waddya think?
MIA green better?
Are you guys/gals OK with the line "join the battle"?
Lemme know
I might try the word Team In a different font/color to make it clearer to read...
Also @ fe3333au ~ Don't forget the "t" :D
@ Everyone ~Thanks for all of the kind words
Mistfit Sep 28, 2005, 01:40 PM Sorry for the double but I was wondering if I even needed the word "team" In there.
Lemme know
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads10/mtdg7.JPG
DaveShack Sep 28, 2005, 01:44 PM Agreed on the font change, as is the "Team" line merges with the team names. Maybe a little smaller (but not much) would do it. Or if you're using separate text boxes for each line, just move the "Team" up about 3 pixels or the team name down.
We might also want to have the elements of this logo available as separate parts so we can incorporate them into individual team graphics. If you have a chance to do that it's a bonus but if it's hard to do then don't bother. :) Does your graphics program have the capability to save in other popular formats?
Edit: Or just remove the word "team".
Provolution Sep 28, 2005, 01:48 PM I think it is good place to have the entire abbreviation spelled out, otherwise, excellent work mistfit :)
Mistfit Sep 28, 2005, 02:00 PM Edit: Or just remove the word "team".
Do you like it better this way?
I think it is good place to have the entire abbreviation spelled out, otherwise, excellent work mistfit :)
Again call me an idiot but I have no clue what you are sugesting here.
enitre abbreviation... isn't that an oxymoron?
What I was asking was if you thought I needed the word team above every team name.
Whomp Sep 28, 2005, 02:04 PM I would take the word team out. It is already implied in "Multi-team".
greekguy Sep 28, 2005, 02:14 PM I suggest taking away the periods between the letters where it says MTDG. no one here posts it with the periods, so i don't think it should be on the logo. :)
RegentMan Sep 28, 2005, 05:38 PM http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads10/mtdg6.JPG
Ahh... I like it better with Team K.I.S.S. on top...
Mistfit Sep 28, 2005, 05:41 PM Really? I got a lot of guff for that one.
RegentMan Sep 28, 2005, 05:43 PM It looks top heavy with Team Doughnut on top, in my opinion.
Ginger_Ale Sep 28, 2005, 05:55 PM Too bottom heavy with Team KISS on top. :p
Keep it on the bottom. It makes no difference, so better to have it reflect the team order. Otherwise I like it without the "Team X", rather "X". If you can maybe try a few different fonts for the "Multi-Team Demo game" text as the current one doesn't really fit, that would be cool.
fe3333au Sep 29, 2005, 04:28 AM Doughnut could be Donut :mischief:
Provolution Sep 29, 2005, 06:24 AM indeed. Doughnut is a bit to "obese" in my opinion. This could be a European sized
D'nut :D, so we do not need a doggiebag to grasp the weight of that letter-heavy top.
fe3333au Sep 29, 2005, 08:35 AM  Nicely bite sized in fact :p
RegentMan Sep 29, 2005, 08:57 AM The official name is Team Doughnut. The official names must be used if they are to be put on a logo.
classical_hero Sep 29, 2005, 09:25 AM I am with Regentman. It looked so much better with Doughnut at the bottom.
donsig Sep 29, 2005, 09:31 AM The original (with 'TEAM KISS' on top - yes, with 'TEAM') looks the best.
IroquoisPlisken Sep 29, 2005, 09:32 AM I think the best one yet is in post #19, without the "Team" in the names.
RegentMan Sep 29, 2005, 06:04 PM I actually prefer the "Team"...
Oh we are such an agreeable group. ;)
Mistfit Oct 02, 2005, 09:56 AM I've come up with somthing that I think should make everyone happy. If it doesn't.... Oh well
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads10/MTDG.gif
IroquoisPlisken Oct 02, 2005, 09:59 AM  :goodjob:
Mistfit Oct 02, 2005, 10:01 AM Thanks IP. How is the delay between the 2 images? should it be a bit longer or is It ok as is?
gmaharriet Oct 02, 2005, 10:30 AM Mistfit, all it needs is to have the wheel and the names spinning. Then everyone could take turns being on top. :crazyeye: J/K!!!
Seriously, you've done a remarkable job! :goodjob:
Own Oct 02, 2005, 10:32 AM Fabulous... Just fabulous...
Butterball Oct 02, 2005, 10:56 AM I've come up with somthing that I think should make everyone happy. If it doesn't.... Oh well
Marvelous ... Simply Marrrrvelous!! :goodjob: You the :king:

Ginger_Ale Oct 02, 2005, 11:01 AM Great, the timing is perfrect. :)
Now I have to write up something to go along with it.
Own Oct 02, 2005, 11:05 AM How about instead of the big civfanatics center banner on the MTDG forum and all the private ones we put the logo there. Is that possible with TF's help?
Mistfit Oct 02, 2005, 12:57 PM Great, the timing is perfrect. :)
Now I have to write up something to go along with it.
Thanks GA!
I'd suggest letting each one of the teams write a 50-75 word write up about their team, possibly as a "press release"
That could be interesting
ybbor Oct 02, 2005, 01:01 PM It's great! Although i would sugest making the delay longer
RegentMan Oct 02, 2005, 01:14 PM I like it! :) Although K.I.S.S.' color changes slightly between the two images.
Mistfit Oct 02, 2005, 01:18 PM I like it! :) Although K.I.S.S.' color changes slightly between the two images.
I hadn't noticed it before but you are right  Actually all of the color balls change up a bit which is wierd as I used the same graphics for both. I wonder if I saved them at a different compression ratio....
Mistfit Oct 11, 2005, 03:43 PM You guys gonna do anything with this Logo?
Just currious.
