I was just wondering if anyone new if the leaderheads were going to change as you advanced through tech levels like in Civ3. For example, Jane D'arc changed from wearing a viking hat and leathery armor in the ancient era, to a suit of chainmail, to a military outfit, to a T-shirt that says ARMeE on it. I don't think caeser would look very realistic wearing a toga to the 1980 UN secratary general meetings... :king:

I doubt they will.

I know they will. Its most likely the last thing they add befor the game is released.

I'm fairly sure they will. They put too mcuh effort into gfx to pull something lame like no leaderhead changes.

Is this gonna be a repeat of the "oh no cities don't evolve" scare? Because they do and so will leaderheads.

Trust me.

Let's see what kind of sight gags they can put in, such as Modern Montezuma having a dartboard with Cortez' picture.

Alexander looks like a greedy and merciless corporate Investment Banker. Which makes sense. He evolved from a greedy and merciless conqueror!!!

what a strange remark... not really considering the game is nearing completion :p

Since there are no "ages" or "epochs" any more, I frankly doubt they will. :)

Of course they will, but I think there will be less (not 4) and not changing at the same time. For example Caesar will change twice during the first half of the game whereas Victoria will change twice in the second half of the game (and once in the first half). Also, the techs that provoke a lh-change are not the same for every leaderhead.

or that is what I'd like to have... ;)

In Reality, I think I've seen a pic with a leaderhead change...

yes...but im sure there are tech "triggers" , probably the same that make the cities evolve...therefore...im sure they will...and plus..thats were a majority of easter eggs come from...and im sure firaxis has to much fun with those not to add more opportunities for them.

I read somewhere that they MAY just change the backgrounds behind the leaders from Ancient to Modern. There are no ages after all.

The look of cities change despite the absence of ages, so that's not an argument. Superkrest mentions trigger techs. Trigger techs was what changed the looks of advisors in Civ 1 and cities in Civ 2. Guess we'll know for sure in 25 days...

I'm sure there will be some kind of change to reflect the relative tech level of the civ you're dealing with.

That's a question of believe: I believe they will have changing leaderheads!

It would be ridiculous to try to bring civ4 to a new graphics-paradise (Don't pick on me! I know there are soooooooo many better graphics and the graphics are so lame blablablabla - It's an improvement IMO and if you don't like it, fine! :p ) without keeping changing lh's...

i fail to see what signs point to no......it wouldnt make sense...its one of the many constants in every single civ addition...people got all upidy about the cities...and how because there were no ages blah blah blah they wouldnt change..wrong...and think thats the case here to....i dont think firaxis would be silly enough to allow a leader to threaten you with nukes wering a toga...trigger techs like willowmound and myself have mentioned are perfectly tried, tested and easlily do able...and i think its allready what causes city change.

I dont think the faces will change during time. We should have seen at least one of the faces in that case... shouldn't we? And I really dont care if they dont change :crazyeye:

Well, if we look at that picture and compare Cyrus and Lizzi to their pictures we've seen so far, we see quite a difference, correct? Especially Cyrus looks like that is a more 'modern' picture of him.

Actually those pics look more like drawings than 3d renderings, but I see your point. Yet I still dont believe it until I see it - either from a screenshot or in 26 days when I get my hands on it
