Hi I'm new around here.
I see Civ 4 is gonna be released soon, can't wait. I love Civ 3, since I started on that one.
I see that Civ 4 is going to use Python, which parts of the game are going to use this language. I ask this because I'm well familiar with this language and am a modder for one other game which uses this language. So what I would like to know is how much modability will be available on that area.
Thanks.
Sorry if this was asked before but I haven't been here for a long time and if anyone know a link to a thread similar like this it would be appreciated.

Python in Civ IV, does this mean that occasionally a large foot will decend from the sky and squash one of your units?

Actually, you're close:

from the Python FAQ

1.1.16 Why is it called Python?
At the same time he began implementing Python, Guido van Rossum was also reading the published scripts from "Monty Python's Flying Circus" (a BBC comedy series from the seventies, in the unlikely case you didn't know). It occurred to him that he needed a name that was short, unique, and slightly mysterious, so he decided to call the language Python.

1.1.17 Do I have to like "Monty Python's Flying Circus"?
No, but it helps. :)
