Hey all, I just bought Civ 3 Last Friday and I'm having a problem. The game installed just fine, but every time I try to run it, I get a pop-up that says "Please insert Civilization III: Complete Play CD into CD-ROM Drive" or something to that effect. I'm pretty sure that's the exact quote. I tried the tech support team at Take 2, and they said I might want to try getting updated graphics drivers (I'm using NVIDIA).

But I doubt it's the graphics drvers because the planet editor starts up just fine, I can create my own worlds and the mess. Just can't play the blasted game. Any ideas what's going on?

Also, I'm sorry if I'm just re-posting a problem that's already been addressed, I'm a bit pressed for time and have a squirming 14 month old girl in one arm, so I can't really go through the archives.

Sincere thanks to anyone who can givew any help.

Do you have any CD/DVD emulation software? Civ3 won't run if you have software like that.

Hmmm, I'm not sure, I'm not even sure what CD/DVD Emulation software is.

The folks at TDK (The company that made my CD-ROM drive) say that it might have something to do with copy protection, and suggested I update my IDE bus master drivers. I did so, and still get the same response.
