Finally! My first unit! :D

Originally, I was going to wait until the release of my Vietnam Scenario, but oh well!

I couldn't wait, so here it is: The North American T-28D Trojan in the markings of the South Vietnamese Air Force (AFRVN). Designed as a trainer, this aircraft proved to be pretty useful in the close-combat support role.

I am planning to release different versions of the Trojan... Laos, France, US Navy, and Taiwan.

I haven't tested it in game, so please let me know what you think. Feedback of any kind is welcome. After all, my learning curve has not flatlined yet.

Figured I'd post some previews. First up: Oversized Pedia teaser.

Congratulations on your first unit.

I had a look at it and the model looked nice. It's very large, though.

Congratulations on your first unit. It is quite well done for the first one out the gate.
Suggestions for future units:
Size matters. It should be scaled to other fighters. Pick a scale and stay with it. The current size seem very large
Frame size: The unit occupies too much of the frame. There should be some room around it, this allows for more animation details.
Altitude: The unit is much to close to the ground. This combined with the tight frame creates some minor clipping.
Attack: The bombing run is seperate and should not be part of the attack. It should be the victory animation. I would suggest making the attack guns flashes.
Animation details: The death seems a bit too static. The plane is exploding and crashing, but doesn't even wiggle. It should move a little. Either bucking or start to go down. I would suggest less side to side motion during the run. Planes in flight don't wiggle all that much. Just a hint of wiggle to give it a sense of motion.
Color palette: There seems to be too few colors on the model. This creates too strong an impact on the minor roll during the run.

Again, congratulations and thanks for a fine unit.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome of my first unit. :)

And, even more appreciated is the feedback. Yeah, the death anim is "OK", nothing more nothing less. As far as the size goes, I think that's relatively easy to change - I just adjust the size settings in the storyboard builder, right? Gosh, I would hate to resize all my frames! What a pain that would be...
Anyway, I will resize in SBB, unless you suggest otherwise. How much bigger than comparable aircraft would you say my Trojan is?

Re: Attack anim. The reason why I didn't go with muzzle flashes was, that the Trojan was mostly used as a close support bomber, not for strafing and never as an interceptor. Now, in game, how and when would the attack anim be used? For bombing runs? No, right, that's where the Bomb.flc anim comes in? I'm confused, and I've been playing Civ forever!
