View Full Version : Civ3 mods converted? JakeCourtney Oct 24, 2005, 02:02 PM Anyone wanting to take their Civ 3 mod into Civ 4 to expand the same idea of the mod? The Great Apple Oct 24, 2005, 02:47 PM I'm pretty sure Rhye is doing/has already done a mod for Civ 4 (I think he has something to do with Firaxis). I'm sure we'll see other mods, such as the ever popular DyP, and Warhammer mods come around soon as well. The one thing I worry about, is that with all the complexity you can add to your modding, nobody will ever finish a mod, as they will keep having to add new cool stuff! Weasel Op Oct 24, 2005, 03:57 PM I plan to convert BfNY to Civ4 someday. And I hope LotM carries over into Civ4. MarineCorps Oct 24, 2005, 05:55 PM The biggest obstacle to the converting all the mods is that AFAIK civ IV won't be able to use the old civ 3 units. :( A pity really, all those thousands of units useless Weasel Op Oct 24, 2005, 06:08 PM We can still make billoard units that will look ok from the standard camera position. Those will work until the 3D unit stockpile starts to grow. HourlyDaily Oct 24, 2005, 10:11 PM I generally don't care too much about the standard of the graphics - even though I like the ones in Civ 4 that I've seen from movies and stills. But I am hoping there is some easy conversion for many of the Civ 3 units (even if they don't look as good as the Civ 4 ones) becuase I would like to be playing Epic games with as many civs as I can cram in there, ASAP. |
