If no one has it by 5PM its pretty safe to say no one will get it today. Tommorow lots of people will though.

im in pacific time slot too, and the larger stores said to come this afternoon as it was expected this morning and wasnt there. so hopefully the shipment they get soon, will have civ4 .. hopefully :)

This. Is. Not. Firaxis'. Fault.

They shipped the master disc(s) to the publisher on the gold date, and then they all went on holiday - they're probably still all on holiday now. They have absolutely nothing to do with the ship date after 'gone gold' day. When a game has 'gone gold', the developer's work is done. Over. Assuming the game isn't broken at release, everyone has a big party, takes a few weeks off, and comes back in to release the first patch :)

You want to be annoyed, be annoyed at 2k Games/TakeTwo for giving slightly misleading dates.

Here's the deal.

Early today I posted that I called my local EB Games, looking for my preorder of Civ 4, and a guy told me "I have your game here in my hands".

I went in there after work, and, surprise of suprises, they aren't getting Civ 4 until tomorrow! I got ahold of the manager and asked him to explain what happened.

He grabbed the other employee that I talked to (also named Paul, hence the confusion earlier) and asked him to explain what happened. I told him who I was and he said "Yeah, dude, the game is right there on the shelf!"

I followed his finger, to see him pointing at ....SimCity 4.

What an idiot. I am incensed- I will NEVER patronize EB Games again.
