1. Your skills*
2. What you are currently working on
3. Your to-do list
4. Your preferred theme, if applicable (ie, fantasy)
5. Whether you are open to requests, or when you will be
6. Preferred method of communication (PM, email, etc)
You may also want to include a preview of, or link to, some of your work.

*Specifically, what type of modding you specialize in:
Units
Leaderheads
Misc. Graphics- 2D/3D
Mod Design
Scenario Design
Maps
Reference/Research
Text
Sounds

Skills: Mod Design, Text, XML, C++
Currently working on: My own fantasy mod (Arcane Imperium) and some tools.
To-do list: Top thing on my list at the moment is to find a way to organize the XML files more legibly; either with an MFC app or with XSL, once I study up on that. After that I need to get used to Python.
Preferred theme: None, really. I've made mods in the past for fantasy, historical, and sci-fi scenarios.
Open to requests: Limited. I have a major class for the next 5 months that will be taking a large chunk of my time, and most of my time with Civ4 is going to be devoted to my own mod, but I am open to small requests.
Preferred method of communication: PM, please.

Skills: Experienced proffesional developer in a variant of the gaming industry, various programming languages including C++, homegrown scripting languages, C, assembly. Have gotten a pretty good grasp of XML and Python as they are fairly obvious thankfully.
Current: Working on some stuff for my own job. Rooting for the game to ever be released in the UK. Getting my personal machine ready for PHP.
To-do: Tap fingers on desk waiting for the game.... I've got some PHP to learn as I will probably be helping some friends modify/upgrade their message board. Finish up asap the project at my job that people actually pay me for so that I will have spare time to work on Civ IV.
Theme(s): Non-applicable. I plan on working on interface mods and game balanced mods. These will mostly be independent of any themes or apply to the generic game.
Availability: Well, the mods I want to hop onto will likely require the SDK. This will require some investigation to verify that indeed they can't be done at the XML/Python level, which in turn will require me to have the game, which I'm not confidant of getting anytime soon because I live in the UK. So no requests right now, but if I ever do get the game and the changes I want to do do indeed require the SDK, I might be available work on small game balancing issues until the SDK is released.
Communication: In this forum would be best. Anything detailed can be taken to PM or email later on.

Skills: Been using 3D Studio Max & G-Max casually for about 5 years now as a hobby. I can't texture worth a damn, but I feel I am pretty good at the modeling aspect, though I'm still learning. I know HTML, a little C/C++, and I'm currently learning Python and XML. I am also quite proficient at image/photo editing.

Current: Nothing for Civ. I am currently making a new Locomotive for Trainz Railroad Sim '06. Also, I am modeling a number of starships for use in a universe that I base a few short stories on.

To-do: Generals Mod, Real Airships Mod, Crimsion Skies Mod.

Theme: Industrial Age, Early Modern Age, Sci-Fi.

Availability: My time is pretty well taken with other, more important things than game modding. However, if you need some help with modeling in 3DS Max or g-max, send me an email and I'll see what I can do.

Communication: email, PM (although I may not get it for some time)

1. Your skills - Scenario Design (units, map), reference/research and text
2. What you are currently working on - learning more about mod design, python, XML
3. Your to-do list - complete #2
4. Your preferred theme, if applicable (ie, fantasy) - U.S. Civil War
5. Whether you are open to requests, or when you will be - I am open to requests.
6. Preferred method of communication (PM, email, etc) - PM or email

I am working on a U.S. Civil War theme. There are a lot of aspects that I would like to take in, and while I will need lots of graphical help down the road, I will need more help in:
- configuring extra diplomatic functions (Territories to become States or leave the Union/CSA, French/English influence in the war)
- creating unique units (i.e. Generals) that provide bonuses to units in the stack or adjact
- creating unique names for units (i.e. when a unit is created it takes on a numbered designation like the 20th Maine)
- creating balanced alternate win conditions (if the north has enough unhappiness/war weariness it will seek peace, etc)
- configure religion to be State's Rights vs Federalism, and this would be the major influence of how Territories decide which side to fight for, or to remain neutral.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'll be working over the next several weeks on some of these ideas and how they would balance out.

1. Your skills*

Misc. Graphics- 2D (Since 1996)/ limmited 3D (Since 2001, enhanced greatly in 2006. Now a decent 3D artist, but I'd rather focus on other areas of mods, namely code. So, unless I feel that it's not getting done anytime soon or if I end up having the patience to try to model, I won't be contributing much in 3D. Also, I'm thinking of backing off of 2D graphics slightly to make more time for code.)
Mod Design (Since 1996)
Scenario Design (Since 1996)
Reference/Research (Since I was 2 or so j/k)
Text (since 1990-1991, I think)
XML (It's just like HTML, so there's nothing to it)
Python (I can learn any programming language in about a week, tops)
C++ (I've been programming for fun since 1991.)

Basically, I'm skilled in just about anything but sound and music.

2. What you are currently working on
Going to college. Finishing finals. Perhaps next week I'll try to memorize the SDK to finish up my guide and to start a new secret project.

3. Your to-do list
Attend college and study all night long :borg:. Sleep is for the weak.

4. Your preferred theme, if applicable (ie, fantasy)
I'll do almost anything, but I need to have a general picture of what you're looking for before I'll commit to anything (basically, you have to sell the idea to me. If I find it interesting, I might do it).

5. Whether you are open to requests, or when you will be
Not at the moment. I am fully capable of doing work at the moment, but I'm not planning on starting any new projects while in school. I'll be out of school about September.

6. Preferred method of communication (PM, email, etc)
Yep, PMing works. Just remember that I won't be looking at Civilization for a while, so don't expect my answers to always be exact, or expect me to get anything submitted while I'm in school.

This thread is totally useless. Most of the poeple that made an entry here I never saw again in the forum and the others are busy with their own mods. I'd say delete it. There are others that deserve a sticky far more!

Your skills : Units / Leaderheads / Misc. Graphics- 2D/3D / Mod Design / Scenario Design / Maps / Reference/Research / Text / XML / Python (I can do it, but haven't for a while :x)
What you are currently working on : Learning about the differnt aspects of Civ 4 modding. Working on learning how to straighten out the AI on a 'pope' mod (Play as the Papal States.)
Your to-do list : All stems from learning the system. I think it would be cool to see contractors who can build forts and military bases.
Your preferred theme : Historical All periods*(*No WW2!!) Fantasy, Sci Fi (Pretty much anything.)
Whether you are open to requests, or when you will be : Course I am.
Preferred method of communication (PM, email, etc) Email or PM

Skills: Programming. Java is my thing, but Python and C++ are doable. I'm interested in design, but I'm better at designing and implementing systems than balancing out the actual numbers.
Working On: Agriculture & Ecology mod
To do: Add more strategy to food production, especially in the early game. Implement a more complex ecology model, which demonstrates the tendency of all civilizations to use up the resources available to them. Also very interested in making a map generator, in the line of Tectonics, with more options and a more in-depth climate model. Maybe someday work on a Colonization-style quantified resource system.
Theme: Universally applicable SDK mods, (pre)history. Might be interested in fantasy or SMAC-style sci-fi.
Requests: No promises, but ask away.
Contact: PM or e-mail
