I need to update my video card but I have no AGP slot (Dell Dimension about 2 years old). Any recommdations other than 'buy a new PC'? Thanks

Hi
Sounds like we have the same Dell!!! Solution? I have stuck in my Dell a Nvidia Geforce 5500 256 pci. Hopefully that will work, fingers crossed for a great game on the 4th?

Most new cards require either an AGP or a PCIe slot - PCI cards have been phased out. Other than actually buying a motherboard with AGP or PCIe slots, your best bet is probably an ATI 9250 or a GeForce 5500, both of which have PCI incarnations.

Dude, you're getting screwed by a Dell.

Seriously, I have heard nothing but bad things about Dell in the past 2 or 3 years.

Radeon ATI 9250 PCI works. I got a dimension too. I bought the card at compusa for 100, and now everything is working.

Best deal I've come across so far online for PCI:

I bought a GeForce FX 5500, installed it, runs like a top. I've had no problems running the game.
