The maual doesn't describe the graphic options. Instead, it says to roll over the options with your mouse to see descriptions of each one. Alas, no such tooltips exist (or at least they don't appear when I roll over the graphic options). Is there a post that describes what each quality setting does yet?

I've noticed a bug where tool tips / rollover text randomly starts and stops working -- that could be what you're seeing...

I've got the same problem, though I've never had the tooltips randomly work. I'm starting up my first new game and wanted to set the various options but because of lack of documentation and this bug I've no idea what some of them do. :-(

Same problem here. I thought it might be because I'm running TweakUI but after turning on all of the cursor and tooltip options the problem remains. Oh well, it's pretty minor but annoying nonetheless.

Maybe not a fix but at least you can get the descriptions of the options. Follow the link. Solution is in the third post down.

Roll-over tips for technologies all of a sudden stopped working for me as well --even in the Tech Tree screen!

Does this have anything to do with playing on any level other than Settler?

Same happens to me. Seems to come and go. If it doesn't come back after a bit, I save & re-load - seems to work pretty well.

Where I most notice the "roll-over" failing is in two places - The trade screen (kinda irritating when you can't see what a tech is worth or what a lux/resource will do for you), The other place is sometimes on the Tech Tree screen.

I've had intermittent problems with tooltips not appearing, mostly on the "What would you like to research" and "what would you like to build" pop-up dialogs. but it always seems to right itself after I dismiss the dialogs. I think it happens when you have the mouse somewhere it doesn't like when those pop-ups appear. It's a hard bug to reproduce.

However, I've never seen the tooltips appear for the graphic options. I think that must be a separate bug. If anyone has seen them, please verify. And post a screenshot of them working if you don't mind.

I happened to notice that this went away after I exited to desktop and restarted the game. :crazyeye:

the rollovers fail EVERYWHERE - if they are gone in one screen, all OTHERS are affected, too.

apart from the ATI stuff, this is THE bug in the game so far. it's not limited to tooltips tho, mouse scrolling also dies at the same time.
