When I go to logon to the multiplayer, it gives me an error "The username you entered is not correct." I know for a fact the username is right and verified. Also, i enabled logging and it returns this error : "ERR: The uniquenick provided is incorrect." Any help? Thanks.

I had the same problem so I went to set up a new account but used my Gamespy old e-mail address ,name and password and I got in. I was going to used a different password but it didn't work unless it matched my gamespy account.

The next time you logged in then hit "log in" instead of new account and enter is your user name and password.

Still not working, it says "Login failed" or "Failed to make connection to the game server."

I'm having the same problems. I've always hated gamespy, and now they're the only way i can play civ4 online. **** you, gamespy. **** you to hell.

I had the same problem and found a solution.

The problem is that any gamespyid account not created by the game itself (using the create account functionality) or any gamespyaccount that you try to create from the game but that is associated to an email address that exists on an already existing gamespy account created from outside the game will not work.

In order to get into the multiplayer lobby, just create a new gamespyid account from in game, using an email address you never used with www.gamespyid.com or IGN before.

hope that helps

hope that helps Or use the exact same Email address, usersname and password you used to log in gamespy itself like I did. If the password and nickname ( the login name used on planetfile that's connected to the email address) and password doesn't exactly match the email address account then it won't work.

I have the EXACT same problem. Damn I hate Gamespy. None of the above solutions work either.

I got the same message after registering a new account with Gamespy. I'm thinking perhaps it's the security settings on my Verizon DSL? Do I need to make sure a specific port is opened? Also, I don't think the firewall software that came with Civ4 was installed. Is there any way to install that component by itself without having to do a full installation all over again?

I tried to make a detailed post about the login issues I have here:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=3239937&postcount=26

I get the Connection to server browser failed error when I log in. :(

I don't think its NAT related as I got the same message with my PC plugged into the cable modem directly with my public IP address.
