i was watching a show called "acent discoverys"
this comes on in the mornings on the history chanel, not sure of the exact time and day..
but ther was one talking about the greece soler clocks, witch are so acureat it take a modren computre to equal it. ther primitve steam engin, atomatic watter dispencers * u drop a coin in, and so much watter will come out* atomatic sliding doors * a system of levies, and counter waghts* and many other itresting things..
thers one on weapons, and it talked about greece fire
it came around to something called the byzantien flame thrower, or thats what the guy used to discribe it.. it was a pump acation flame thrower.
u whold pull a plunger back, witch whold suck fule from a bottoum tube in to the uper tube, then u push the plunger and it whold spray the fule out.
a small match kept lit at the end whold ignite the fule, shoting out a 3-4 yard 3 sec burst of fire.. the fule uses was greece fire, so it whold stick onto the enemy and keep burning..
any one know of any battels that this was used in??

I doubt it was used in any important battle.

The hand held flamethrower (that worked just like a supersoaker squirt gun) would have been incredibly expensive to make and awkward to use in actual combat, not to mention it was also probably more dangerous to the user than the enemy.

I saw the same documentry btw.
