I cannot join a multiplayer game. When I host, nobody joins (Im talking about over the course of 2 hours). The first issue is extremely irritating! FIRAXIS AND GAMESPY: WTF IS WRONG HERE?! The second issue could just be that people dont wanna join my games :lol:, but I suspect otherwise.

Ive never had problems before using Gamespy to play and host CivIII multi games. What is wrong with CivIV and how do I fix it?

There's a few reasons.

1 - People are still getting the game.
2 - There's a lot of Ladder Players (tournament) who don't like to join non-ladder games.
3 - If you have a high ping (modem user), many players don't like to join those.

It could just be a question of social engineering. :)

Chieftess I have seen you on line but havent seen a game you are hosting - have a very hard time scrolling down the games list. I also have to admit that, not being a multiplayer in civ3 myself - you do intimidate me, a little. If I see I will try to join. I have played 1 1/2 games sp now still playing my warlord game which seems to be well matched for my (civ4) beginner skills. Waiting for war to be declared, so I am playing defensely. They did say they made a lot of changes to mp and with alot of changes comes alot of bugs.

oh ps what is up with the buddy list - I have 2 buddys and it never shows them as offline or online?

1 - That's because I have v87 (a beta version).
2 - There's a plus sign next to "Online". You need to click that to open the list.

To fix your scrolling problem use the arrows not the mouse, someone told me that and now its easy to search out games
