Well three things, the first one seems like a bug type problem. The second is a tech-tree/civic question. And the third is a button type request.

1. When playing Direction Connection my brother and I are able to chat back and forth via the regular chat feature, but when we are in the negotiations window I am able to talk to him (via the built in chat thing for trading) but he is unable to reply back. Doesn't matter who intiates the trade or hosts the game, it's always him not being able to respond, seems odd, or am I over riding him on trades when he attempts to contact me and I accept is it putting me in charge?
If that's the case are you only able to type if you are the one who initates the trade?

2. At what Techs/Civics are you able to start demanding people convert,make peace-war, or techs/reasources?

3. Is there a better way to accept or intiate trades than clicking on the users name or right clicking in the foreign advisor window?
