View Full Version : UN Elections
agoodfella Oct 30, 2005, 02:08 AM I just got 352 votes out of the 471 total:
that's 75%! :king:
anyways, enough patting myself on the back...
Q: How do you propose UN resolutions?
XeroTheta Oct 30, 2005, 02:10 AM As far as I know, when you build the UN, there is a vote for Secretary General. Once there is a secretary general, then every few turns, the SG gets to propose a bill. This comes as a popup with a list of buttons. Also, when a bill has already been passed by a previous vote, it says "Passed" on the button (so you don't vote on it again). Hope this helps.
agoodfella Oct 30, 2005, 02:20 AM thanks, it did.
Art Vandelai Oct 30, 2005, 02:57 PM Unlike CIV 3, if anouther civ is more popular than you with the other AI, the AI civs will band together to vote their "friend" into the secratary general. I was in the middle of a space race with one other civ (who was slightly ahead), but it pulled off the diplomatic victory a few turns after I build the UN.
First he got voted as sec. general, then proposed 2 civics (which I went along with since I had these already), then had the election for the world leader, and won!

Can you not vote to reject a previous resolution? (or is the "Passed" just there to let you know and keep you from making a mistake?)
kingpenguin Oct 30, 2005, 03:26 PM World leader election was rough. My allied states would vote me for sec-gen., but not world leader every time. I need better friends. (Got 'em in the space race, though!)

dc82 Oct 30, 2005, 04:29 PM Yeah I needed just one more civ to be on my side, so after a few rounds of being nice to them, giving them gifts, I got them to switch over and give me a diplomatic win!
